JOHNNY DEPP WOULD LOVE TO STAR IN BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN’S LIFE STORY

Rumor has it that Johnny Depp recently approached Bruce Springsteen about starring In a movie about the singer’s life but Bruce turned him down flat. Bruce and Johnny are friendly and have hung out together – including after The Grammys last February, so we’ve been trying to figure out why Bruce, 63, wouldn’t be at least a LITTLE tantalized by the idea. Springsteen’s image as a working-class hero emerging in the early 80’s would certainly be appealing movie material and Johnny IS a frustrated rock star. But maybe Johnny, at 49, is a bit old to play the intense young Bruce. Or maybe Bruce is in no hurry to see his life onscreen. James Franco has also been suggested to play Bruce if indeed a movie biography gets made.

  1. first thing to do: SHAVE OFF THOSE GENITAL HAIRS AROUND YOUR MOUTH!!

  2. Ben Stiller did the best Springsteen on his old TV show. Use him.

  3. It’s odd that Bruce Springsteen is considered a hero to the working man, yet wasn’t his last CD sold exclusively at WalMart? Not exactly a labor friendly corporation. Just curious if anyone has a comment about that.

  4. Ben Affleck would be a good choice, he could probably still pull off a “YOUNGISH” skinny Springsteen!

  5. @Natalie, Target’s profits go straight to France and they don’t contribute in any way to toys for tots or vets in any manner. wal-mart is just fine.

  6. My Gosh you look at Springsteen and he’s all man. Johnny Depp likes eyeshadow and mascara way to much to play The Boss. Also Springseen has always done good works in cities he plays in, what has Johnny done for anyone? Am sooooo glad Springsteen turned him down. Brad Pitt would be a much better fit.
