JULIA LOUIE DREYFUSS: HER FATHER HAPPENS TO BE A BILLIONAIRE!

This week our esteemed colleague, Montecito Journal gossip columnist Richard Mineards, reminded us of just how wealthy Julia Louis-Dreyfuss, 53, really IS. Julia, who lives in Montecito with her husband Brad Hall and two sons, made a HUGE name for herself starring as the lovable crackpot Elaine on Seinfeld for nine seasons. (Her vintage frocks and 40’s jackets were a big fashion influence in those years.) At that point she could have retired. but she went on to score another hit with HBO’s VEEP. Financially, she is a very successful actress, and it runs in her family. Julia’s businessman father William Louis-Dreyfuss admits Julia was “always funny “ but he was surprised by her success. William is estimated to be worth 3.4 BILLION dollars, so the apple didn’t fall far from the tree, did it?

  1. knew that, I think it’s pretty cool too. JLD still has great fashion taste. I always love her red carpet, frocks choices.

  2. Richard Dreyfuss is distantly related to JLD.

But what do you mean the apple doesnt fall far from the tree?

She is from a family successful in business but she chose a career path entirely different from her family’s, which was a risk.

Most people never make a career in the entertainment industry regardless of how talented, attractive and even connected they might be.

Everything has to be in place for IT to happen.

off topic: JDL served as an unrequited love for Jerry Seinfield. He’s the type to go for big, buxom blondes but working opposite a smart, funny and beautiful brunette all those years who was not at all interested in him, turned his head and his tastes.

Jessica Seinfield the professional gold digger, should thank JDL for that.

  3. She was great in ‘Seinfeld’, the rest of her roles, not so much….but what his story ignores is that her Father was a Jew. She may have had a ‘leg up’ in the casting department.

  4. Good on her for making her own successes. Seinfeld is probably still one the best sitcoms around.

  5. Absolutely love her on Veep. Didn’t know she came from money, but obviously she’s made her own so good for her! I admire that.
