This photo of eccentric designer Karl Lagerfeld is exceptional because he stopped to buy stuff from a street vendor outside the Mercer Hotel in New York. We’d love to know what tickled his fancy. Karl is so recognizable in his stiff collars and leather gloves, let’s hope the seller recognized his famous customer so he could brag about the sale later. And who’s that attractive young man looking over Karl’s shoulder?

  1. there are several artisans out there on the weekend selling their jewelry and knit wear.. if you can stand crowds, it’s worth a look.
years ago, an english dude dressed up in a top hat and suit sold sachets of lavender in that area.
But it looks as if KL is reprimanding a vendor for selling handbag knockoffs, theres a lot of that going on down there too.

  2. The attractive man is famous Hollywood Actor Luke Perry of 90210 fame. They are lovers.

  3. This old FAGGOT is ready for some INTERNAL INVESTIGATIONS, folks?

  4. It would be great if someone would publicly b-itch slap this fruit and have it on tape. These design people really irritate me with their “I’m better than you” attitude.

  5. Who is his significant other, it’s not Luke Perry, this guy ain’t LP> 🙂

  6. For sure he’s scoping out the merchandise for fakes and rip-off of Chanel (probably purses) which bilks the company of millions (billions industry wise); it’s piracy and thievery which can support terrorism as well.
    It’s a total injustice.

  7. It not right that word terrorism is thrown in every random conversation, this devalues the seriousness of the problem.
IMO, a gal who buys a “designer” purse off the street is not a customer of Chanel or Louis Vuitton or Hermes or Prada.
Chanel is not losing money from the knock offs unless the product is being sold as authentic in a reputable store.
It’s safe to assume if you’re buying a LV bag at a steep “discount” from a tarp on the street, you know you are buying a knockoff.
I’m not saying KL and his peers don’t have the right to be angry their work is being ripped off but are they really losing money from it?

  8. Does Mr. Lagerfeld realize how stupid he looks in his horrendous collars and gloves? If not someone needs to be kind and inform him of this. Is that Tom Hanks in the sunglasses?

  9. I dont know who his friend is but if he is gay, what a loss for all women!!! He is HOT HOT HOT
