Kat Von D is carving out quite a name for herself in the world of LA tattoo shops. She films her TLC reality show called LA Ink at her place on La Brea called High Voltage Tattoo and has more customers than she knows what to do with. We were enthralled with the fact that her boyfriend is Alex Orbison the drummer from Whitestarr – who happens to be the legendary Roy Orbison’s son! Above, she’s at the Letterman show where she displayed her latest artwork.

I’m an older guy and I can’t believe what’s happen to the world. All those tattoos and when she gets around 45 or 50 they will look terrible.

Tattoos haven’t been cutting edge since, oh, 1988. If you get them now, all you are is a consumer conformist, like someone who buys their clothes at Buckle or Hollister…
As for being a TV “Star,” Kat VD is rather the product of Madison Ave, if anything.

She can be wearing 10,000 dollar shoes. The tatts makes her look dirty no matter what. No getting around it..
The show looks painful but pretty and you simply have to be brave to mark your body up and have zero fear for pain but for me..I have not walked that walk and…I Think Hell no down the road and even if it was free..I Pass completely and of course it is all about Kat and her life and her relationships and her friendship and how she handles her business at the shop but at the same time surprise are always on that show and Kat often says everyone is the Bomb and Wonderful and often has Positive feed back and she seem like other people take advantage and run her over to some degree and she has a tendancy to allow people that screw her over and take advantage of her to a large degree.
