Ever since we read about Katy Perry’s new gated compound in Richard Mineards’ column in the Montecito Journal, we’ve been puzzled by her property choice. “California Gurl” Katy bought the 4 acre property on Mulholland Drive from Aileen Getty for 11.5 million dollars. The land has TWO very different houses. One is a 3000 square foot mid-century modern home with walls of glass, and the other house is quite the opposite- a 3900 sq ft Spanish style house. The huge property has two pools and two guest houses. The question is: Which house will Katy live in? And who will occupy the other one? Hmmmm…

Mulholland’s for when she’s in town and her brother and/or assistants can live in the second house. Her Montecito one is near her wackjob parents, so hopefully she has armed guards to keep them at bay. And she wonders why she can’t keep a man?
