This was a big week for makeunders. First, Lady Gaga went out to a restaurant and she wasn’t outlandishly dressed! Her normal appearance had her fans shocked, but everyone deserves a day off from HER exhausting fashion habits. Days later Rihanna took it a step further and actually left the house with her own brown hair pulled up in a high ponytail and no evidence of makeup. (Do you think she REALLY spends $14000 a week on hair styling?) Plus she wore a BLAZER. These two are trying to keep us on our toes. What’s next – a visit to Brooks Brothers?

GaGa is the highest paid and most powerful performer on the planet.
Get used to it. For about the next three decades.

I don’t think there is any motive to their madness. Both are supremely talented and still very young. More power to them!!! 🙂

If you judge both of them, their ‘talent’ should be the singing voice and I’m sorry but both are complete rubbish.

Maybe they read this column and all of the trash talking that goes on here about them. Thought they might throw a curve ball to the haters??

they both look 100% better. I doubt that is RiRi’s real hair though

Lady GaGa looks great in this picture.
Still chicks that wear pork roasts do have certain primal attraction.
REta, I bet you’ve never worn flank stanks to a soiree.

Rihanna’s hair looks great. I don’t know why black women have this neurosis with their hair and hide it under weaves. Natural black hair, even afros are quite attractive. White people don’t care, it’s your own insecurity driving this…

Maryann, I agree completely! And Gagme looks supurb (almost) if only she would have left home the awful wig she has to stroke constantly or it will bite her. They both need to just relax and learn to love themselves and be accepting, and Maryann said, nobody is pressing these performers into this nonsense but their own lack of security in their own looks. It’s all very childish.

Pippa, you are correct too. A “Real” singer should be able to just walk up to the mic and belt it out and give the whole audience goose bumps. Maybe a lovely evening gown, maybe a pretty magnolia in her hair a la Billie Holiday. She may have been a junkie, but she she has class and elegance, and only by singing, not by pulling off magicians pranks.

    Hey Reta

    Good Morning!

“A “Real” singer should be able to just walk up to the mic and belt it out… ”

Why not be able to do both? I enjoy being entertained. Love the Pink concert (yes, even at my age!), Garth Brooks (awesome concert!) and Kiss (yes, I’m old and still love their music). Heck even Judy Garland would throw in the occasionally dance number. lol 🙂

Finally, not even the mighty Elvis loitered around a microphone……he always gave the ladies some quivering pelvic seizures just for good measure. 🙂

Our favourite REta has some stressy issues at this time so it would be nice if everybody had some kind words for her today.

    We love you Reta.

@Reta (my little cupcake….if I nickname you after food, then you know your practically family. lol)

I would have been delighted to join you on the dance floor. I have rather large feet (Be nice now. lol) & questionable rhythm and would have probably left your delicate toes scratched and bruised. 🙂

I have no doubt that your surgery on the 18th will be completely fine. You will do great my dear. Please don’t make us wait and wonder and let us know how you are at your earliest convenience. Okay?

You indicated that you were moving too? Anything else stressful that you want to tackle? World hunger? Peace in the Middle East? Madonna a successful film career? lol

You have to get better quickly because Patrick doesn’t do very well in your absence. Me thinks you are his special buddy muse. 🙂

I know most of you have been worried sick about me since I have not been on here for a few days***(Major LOL)***. Anyhoo, I have been overdosing on Elvis Week. Tomorrow is the Candlelight vigil starting at 8:30 PM at Graceland, of course. I won’t be going, as there are many 1000’s here from countries, flooding souvenir shops and restaurants and hotels. I’ve been to Graceland 4 times with visitors (at non-Elvis’ times of January and August when it wasn’t crowded). Whether you like him or not, he is the only ***star***that after 34 years they still come in droves twice a year. The list of ‘E’ things to do planned since around 8/10 boggles the mind.

RETA, I hope you get well soon.
I said a prayer for you.
    Does that make you mad?
    Too bad and too late!!!
    I’ve already said it.

Re: Gaga and Rihanna: Not too wild about these gals, but you gotta give it to them for staying in the spotlight no matter what or how they pull it off.

    Welcome back INDY!!!! 🙂

I use to live in West TN and have friends in Germantown. Anytime family or friends would visit me they wanted to go to Graceland.

Whether a person is a fan or not, they need to experience Graceland. I was shocked at how little I knew about him the first time I went. I don’t care how many times a person goes or what time of year, there is always fans there that love and miss him and have been touched by his music.

Indy, your comments remind me that neither of these ladies are likely to have the impact on society and music that Elvis did, regardless of what they wear, or don’t wear.

By the way, both of this ladies look great in the pictures above which just proves that old adage “less is more”.

They look so much better w/o the overdone hair and makeup and swimsuits they wear on stage.

Gaga is a Disco singer and that is her move and she is crazy and strange and gets massive amounts of attention and Rihanna only gathered more attention after she got her butt beat and this two woman have had troubles and stress in there life and they have there own fashion and style and some times you reach into your closet and pick something and maybe things they have don’t meet your standards and..I Don’t see any one in this world who dress like them.

I can understand she wears outrageous outfits as part of the act or perhaps attention. However, I’ve seen many other pics of her without heavy stage gear & she’s looks so much better.

Love him or hate him, this guy is a loudmouth who doesn’t hesitate to tell it like he sees it- but there’s one thing he NEVER talks about: his prostate problem. Long story short: he LEAKS! He likes to project an image of macho virility, but under his custom made suits are custom made “diapers.” He’s VERY self-conscious and has absorbent but undetectable “panty liners” sewn into all his underwear, to avoid wet spots. Thanks to his arrogant behavior, he has more than a few enemies and he’s terrified his secret will be exposed and he’ll be forever ridiculed!
