“LAKE SHORE” PROVES THAT CANADIANS CAN BE REVOLTING TOO

Everybody wants to top the success of MTV’s Jersey Shore so they try to go one step further in terms of obnoxious party behavior and ethnicity. Canada has a new show called “Lake Shore” and the eight party monsters refer to each other by their backgrounds – “The Turk, “The Pole,” “The Lebanese,” etc. Toronto wants to play up it’s ethnic diversity and the somewhat prejudiced participants don’t always get along. Their differences DO make them interesting, but not particularly lovable. Take a look at the introductory video.

  1. Sounds like that’s the case Lenny.
    “REVOLTING” is an understatement!!

  2. “Nikki Beach” is in toronto.
    …………………………..THAT’S WHY!!!

  3. Ugh!!!!! These people are absolutely disgusting. Unfortunately, they do represent a certain aspect of the Greater Toronto Area.

When I was growing up and in my twenties T.O. was multicultural, but there was still a cohesive culture, and people had class, civility and a sense of gentility and propriety. It was still a very Anglo (British) Canadian place. We sneered at American cities. But over the last 20 years the Toronto area has been swamped by wave upon wave of immigrant groups, which has prevented effective assimilation and resulted in this kind of urban douche culture.

Hate to sound like Strom, but this is what uncontoled immigration gets you. Just ask the thousands of ex-Torontonians (of all colors and ethnic backgrounds) who have or are escaping to the West, East or North.

  4. HAHAHA. For years I’ve had to endure Canadians calling us Americans “racist” because we complained about the Mexico illegals and their failure to assimilate and now we have Canadians finally getting the memo. Assimilate or buzz off!!!

  5. Don’t worry, nobody watches Canadian television, not even Canadians.

  6. Pippa hahahahah!!! So true! I asked my son (Canadian) who watches Jersey Shore and finds it amusing, what is his opinion on Lake Shore. He said: Trash!

  7. this was proven to be a joke that someone made and it’s not a real show.

  8. Okay so I guess it really is happening. Disregard my comment above….Wow I’m embarrased to be Canadian:(

  9. Multiculturalism is a failure, multiculturalism is a failure. And yeah, I agree, you have to make a choice. Many Canadians are like me — they are first generation, but their parents are from two different ethnic groups, so they HAVE to be Canadian. However, the big problem today is first generation Canadians whose parents are of the same nationality, and who feel more of an allegiance to their parents’ home country than to their new country. They treat Canada as a cheap motel used for a stopover. Sad but true. The American melting pot of old is the only way!

  10. Toronto is now off my list of places I want to visit. Sorry, Canada, I imagined Toronto to be a classy city. Also off my list is the Red Green show–Canadian hillbillies on public tv like they’ve attained some kind of virtue.

  11. Bluejay, I would advise anyone to give Toronto a miss. Go to Montreal or Quebec City for the class, history and culture, or Vancouver for the scenery. As for the other cities you may have heard mention of: forget it — they are one-horse-towns and cultural wastelands.

You are again showing you are “All Talk and No Intelligence”. What about the “Prairie’s”. I live in Alberta and am very proud to be an Albertan. Alberta is home to the Rocky Mountains, the World’s second largest Shopping Mall, WEM, 2 Stanley cup winning hockey teams, I REPEAT 2 Stanley Cup Winning Teams (If you are a true Canadian you will really appreciate this stat)The Oilers(5) and Flames(1). Alberta is rich in Canadian history. Albertan’s are down to earth and classy. Maybe “SebastianCanada” you should actually visit these places before you label them one-horse-towns. By the way isn’t Quebec threatning to part with the rest of the Canadian provinces. Doesn’t sound like the French people are very proud to be Canadian to me….Mmmm
    Just sayin’

  13. The absolute Best Canadian TV series is Slings and Arrows. This looks to be Not the best work of Canadian Television. Reality TV is never a pretty thing. Give the art to the artists, in any country.

  14. Muffin, regardless of the Separation movement, Quebec is Canada, and certainly more Canada than Alberta, which is full of semi-Americans/American Wannabees. My perspective is that Canada is about the cultural and intellectual legacy of our mother countries — France and England. Alberta does not seem to give a s**t about this. It is more interested in giving it oil away to the U.S.

As for the one-horse-town comment, you proved my point better than I ever could. A shopping mall, the outdoors and sports! Jeez! Thanks for perpetuating a Canadian stereotype. I was writing about culture, so it is no surprise you did not get it.

What is the difference between Alberta and a cup of boiled yoghurt? – There is more culture in the cup of yoghurt.

I would love to see an Alberta Jersery Shore. Oh, wait, there is no point. It would just be six cowboys and one mildly ethnic person, and the six cowboys would spend all their time trying to chase the other guy out of town.

  15. The Lake Shore filth is just another reason this old adage still holds true: The mental patients are running the asylum and the few sane persons left are wondering what the hell happened.

  16. I think our best hill folk are still in Sooke. B.C.
    See you in Victoria.

  17. Uhm SebastianCanada, as far as myself and the majority of other “Proud Canadians”(unlike yourself) would consider hockey a definate piece of Canadian culture and history. France and England??? What tha.. What about the Native Americans that were here first? Being the down to earth “Proud Canadian” that I am(unlike yourself) would consider this heritage the ultimate cultural legacy.

As for us Albertan’s giving our oil to the American’s. What the heck does your arse ride around in? A mini hybid that runs on popcorn farts or good old American oil??

PS. Smart one, maybe you should learn how to spell. yoghurt??

  18. The U.S. has given us our Janet Charlton.

Canada (via the Creator) has given us the Falls and River, albeit a tortuous wait at the border and mostly crummy and expensive food.

  19. Muffin, there is nothing wrong with that spelling dear. Bet your write “favor”, “neighbor”, etc., all the time, being Americanese.

An Albertan talking about Native Americans is obscene considering the treatment they get in your province. And, btw, the are called First Nations people. “Native American” is racist. Prove another of my points? I think you did. If you are going to trot out that tired We Are All Immmigrants nonsense, it is best to not drop a racist clinker while doing it.

American oil? American only in the sense that America stole and weedled it out of other nations. I am sure it makes you feel good to feel that it is pure clean beautiful blond blue-eyed American gas feeding your disgusting 150 pickup truck. I know differently, and so responsibly drive a gas-saving Japanese car.

If there ever is an Albertan version of Jersey Shore, be sure to get to the audition. You are just the braindead redneck cretin they would want.

  20. Oops. “Native American” is also inaccurate, as they were the first migrants to North America. Thus the “First Nations People” title.

  21. Sebastion. I have Mohawk and Cree in my lineage, even though my girls are red heads and I am blonde. That is typical in Canadians with pioneer ancestors. The term used by First Nations to describe themselves is Indian. The term First Nations was thought up by politically correct university professors and is largely laughable to Indians. Remember it’s called, “Indian Affairs.”
    Don’t F#&K with the Canadians.

  22. So, Patrick do you disagree RE my point about the accuracy of the term “First Nations”? Indians were, after all, the first people to form “nations” in North America. In Canada, it was the the French, then the British.

  23. You are missing the point Sebastion. “First Nations” is a term by politically correct white people for politically{head up there ass} white people.
    Indians call themselves INDIANS! Proudly!!
Who are you to change their name for themselves?!
Anthropological data now points to the actual first settlers of North America coming from Siberia and Europe via ice bridges. They had names like Gorak and Gronk and looked Caucasian. Something the Indians don’t like to talk about.

  24. Native Americans came from Siberia across the berring sea ice bridge and it’s a known fact those peoples were caucasians. So basically “native Americans” are really ancestors of White people. It makes no sense at all for native Americans to identify as a “minority”, it is only culturally crippiling their people to do so.

  25. The first people crossing the Bering Strait into North America were the descendants of the Mongolians, central Asians. Genetic testing has proven so.

The first people had names like Gorack and Gronk?! Somebody’s been watching Saturday morning cartoons.

  26. No Bettye. It was the Clovis and they came across the European land bridge. Also google “Kennewick man.” He looked like Captain Picard.
Gorak was the name of a caveman in the South Park cartoon. You got that part right.

  27. patrick and muffin, thanks for handling sc on this. he’s so fucking cultured and intelligent, but can’t carry on “thought-provoking” convos without insulting another’s intelligence. culture comprises a lot of things.

he needs to get a taste of his own meds each and every time, let alone get a JOB.

muffin, i enjoyed my time in vancouver, but have yet to visit alberta. c u soon!

  28. I think the people where drunk when they did this and it seems like it was done for fun…Every one can laugh and think how strange and weird and crazy this stuff is and I think nuts and this stuff really gives me the creeps and…This people are stalkers and are on L.S.D. But this is for weird and people who have lost there mind… Of course you have to think…What the Hell is this and why are this people doing this and of course some people are hooked on some crazy words like Hell No.

  29. Casonia logenberry....I know some people think? That I am crazy and strange and weird but..I really love Hells kitchen so much...I have been trying to get there attention on so many levels! says:

Every one has passion and wants and needs and if you can’t have the real thing it is better to get some thing that is close to it.

  30. Casonia logenberry..For 7 days off from blogging is going to drive me crazy not to communicate but the librarys are closed down for 7 painful days and always love Hells kitchen says:

  31. Casonia..I am not crazy but..I do like Hells kitchen because they are not nice to people and the crap you have to go throw for a job!Weak people can't handle the drama and dirt that chef toss your way but I can role with it! says:
