LAST LAUGH

We could hardly wait to get our hands on the new issue of Frontiers because we heard there was Kathy Griffin scoop in it. Sure enough, there was one of Kathy’s “main gays” on the cover. Remember her two “best gays” that were prominently featured in the first season of her show “My Life on the D-List?” Before the series even aired they had been banished from her life. After ten years of friendship. Handsome Tony Tripoli revealed WHY. He insists it had NOTHING to do with the fact that they were not paid to be on the show. He says the friendship didn’t end over one specific argument – it was what he calls “A blossoming lack of kindness and gratitude” on her part. (We suspect it COULD have something to do with the way she treated her husband Matt.) Tony says “I want to live in a world with a little more kindness.” Tony has a role on new series Fashion House and he might be amused to hear that Kathy was seen last weekend flying ECONOMY on Southwest to Oakland where she took the SHUTTLE (no limo) to her show in Napa.

   Over rated and annoying.

   Yeah, she’s occasionally funny, but she’s really homely and they did an online poll with a face-by-face before and after surgery shot of her asking people to pick which they prefer, and the majority thought she looked better BEFORE! LOL! She relies too much on slagging off celebs in her act. Today’s stars are easy targets and anyone can do that.

   This is really too bad.
   Kathy Griffin is genuinely funny.
   Unfortunately, she seems to have a fatal character flaw wherein she crosses the line from being merely sarcastic to acid-tongued — and hurts the people who have been her friends and allies.

    I don’t understand Janet. In your column TWO LESS BELLS TO ANSWER dated 7/11/06 you claimed it WAS about them not getting money for their work on D-List. Now you write a column saying it isn’t. What are we to believe?? Or can we believe anything you say?

    Um, ALL seats are economy on Southwest. SWA is easily the best way to get around Cali. What’s the big deal?
    And a shuttle to Napa? I don’t believe that for a second. It’s a long-ass ride from Oakland to Napa. I think you’re mistaking a rental car for a shuttle.
