The worm has TURNED regarding Liv Tyler’s divorce. Just as it seemed like Liv and her husband Royston Langden were getting along, and at the very least, destined have a civilized split, he hired a hungry lawyer. Royston hasn’t been making much money as a musician so Liv was the breadwinner while they were married. (And THAT irked her) Liv’s career is flourishing with The Strangers and The Incredible Hulk, and Royston wants a BIG chunk of her income. Now it’s turning into a custody court battle and Liv is not happy. She hopes to move to Los Angeles temporarily to get away from it all.

  1. She might have learned something from Ricki Lake’s busted marriage; very similar situation.

  2. So Janet, are you going to admit the story you wrote about them getting back together (lifted from another site) was pure lies?

  3. Liv had every reason to try to make nice with her soon-to-be ex.
    Sounds like her attempt failed.
Once the hired guns (divorce lawyers) are called in, all bets are off.

  4. It is sad. If she’s going by what she makes and what he makes those tables can turn on her in a minute. There will come a time when she may have to depend on somebody. Why not the father of her child?

  5. Gee, this situation is common, where the female is the main breadwinner…eg.: Kelly Ripa, Brooke Shields, Kathie Lee Gifford, and we all know what happened to Anne Heche. Yet, some of these women, who make all the money, are still suspicious that their hubby will cheat on them. so funny. Kelly Ripa is always suspicious when Mark goes out of town to do some little penny-ante thing.

  6. I like Liv, but the fact is if the hubby was the big breadwinner, no one would think it’s terrible that the wife wants/gets a big settlement and alimony. She’s got plenty of money, pay the guy and be done with it! And I still think she’s pregnant.

  7. Other Hollywood Women Who Paid Big $$$ To Get Rid of Layabout Husbands:
Anne Heche & Coley Laffoon (as mentioned)
Ricki Lake & Rob Sussman (as mentioned)
    Faye Dunaway & Terry O’Neill
    Kirstie Alley & Parker Stevenson
Joan Lunden & Some Loser She Married

  8. Good for him. About time men get what women have been getting for doing nothing all these years.
I hope he takes her for every dime he can get.

  9. I don’t know how those men can face their friends and family, they’re just letting everyone know how weak and wimpy they are they can’t even work to support themselves. They just want to grab someone else’s money so they don’t ever have to work, and they’re supposed to be men?

  10. ^^^
And the real kicker is, Royston will probably be using Liv’s money to pay for the lawyers to represent him…
If they’re working for him on a contingency basis, it amounts to the same thing; they stand to gain a percentage of whatever they can win for Royston — a percentage, that is, of HER money.

  11. Question: Have you ever seen Liv Tyler wear anything pretty or fashionable? I never have, never.

  12. To elaborate on 6:13 AM JellyBean…..I also have noticed when the female brings in most or all of the money that they still are afraid their hubby will cheat, even tho they are basically being kept by HER money. Case in point, when Mark Consuelos went to Australia to film the short-lived series, “Missing”, Kelly Ripa took all 3 kids and flew to Australia. WHY? The rag mags had pics of him drinking and dining with his co-star Vivica A Fox and Ms. Ripa thought he may be having an affair. So she flew there and kept an eye on him. Since that time, Mark has brought in very very little $$ and she still is jealous of him. hahahaha, all phonies.

  13. Mark Consuelos is very hot, and women are much more agressive in their persuit of prey. I would worry too.

  14. I don’t know how women can face their friends and family, they’re just letting everyone know what gold-diggers they are and that they can’t even work to support themselves. They just want to grab someone else’s money so they don’t ever have to work, and there is supposed to be equality?
Men work hard and then women want allimony for the rest of their life. Heather McCarthy, Amy Irving, Zsa Zsa Gabor and many mid-west Fraus.

  15. Remember when Kirstie Allen won an Emmy and famously thanked her husband Parker Stevenson for “giving her the big one all these years”?
Guess her gratitude didn’t go nearly far enough.
When they divorced, Parker, who hadn’t had a job in YEARS, really cleaned her out.
At the time, Kirstie made some pretty blunt comments about the setlement, implying that it was unmanly of Stevenson to take her money — even if the law allowed it.
