MACY’S SHOPPERS LOVE LOURDES AND MADONNA’S MATERIAL GIRL FASHIONS

Madonna and Lourdes’ Material Girl clothing collection debuted at Macy’s in New York and it’s a hit. Girls and women mobbed the store at opening time and the Material Girl department was jampacked. Free cupcakes with sprinkles were served and Madonna music played nonstop, but both designers are apparently still in Europe. Official Material Girl spokes model Taylor Momsen gave a free concert in the store the same evening. Mothers were thrilled with the $12 to $40 price tags and daughters stocked up. It’s a large and continuously changing collection – where will Lourdes and Madonna find the time?

Tacky, cheap-looking white-trash-wear. Did I mention cheap? Shocking.

Sebastian: Right, and they could throw in a red string Kabbalah bracelet for 1/2 price if they bought a certain amount of their cheap looking stuff. And a pamphlet explaining Kabbalah, and on slow Mondays a bottle of Kabbalah water.

I remember an interview Madge gave when she was pregnant with Lourdes. She said she was going to teach her child values. Like what? the interviewer asked. The response was: the value of money. Madonna is certainly sticking to plan.

I loved and wore this fashion in the 1980’s and I love it now…It’s just all about having fun for young girls and women!

Bu, I think the big difference in the 80’s was that kids put it all together themselves. Raiding your parent’s closets, scouring thrift stores and flea markets, altering department store staples – that was the fun.

Getting it all prepackaged, like crappy breakfast cereal? Boring and manipulative.

NEW UPDATE CHECK IT OUT - HOLLYWOOD WHODUNIT!

  • HOLLYWOOD WHODUNIT: LOOK WHO’S NOT TALKING ABOUT HARVEY WEINSTEIN !
    |

We love every one of Harvey Weinstein’s female accusers – but what about the actresses who AREN’T talking? One actress who won an Oscar in the 90’s has been CONSPICUOUSLY SILENT about the casting couch scandal. It’s because SHE has had a long-term “arrangement” with Harvey in which she traded sex for showbiz favors and it must have been awful, but her career prospered. Now this A-lister is horrified at the prospect of being found out! And, guess what – she’s NOT the only one who’s conspicuously silent!
    Any guesses?
