The “Mad Men“ star Jon Hamm‘s girlfriend of fifteen years, Jennifer Westfeldt, went to Yale and wrote and starred in the indie hit “Kissing Jessica Stein” in 2001. She also wrote and starred in her new movie “Friends With Kids” that has a great cast – many from “Bridesmaids.” (Jon has a costarring role) It’s an intelligent comedy about relationships, but far more sophisticated than “Bridesmaids.” Jon and Jennifer have been promoting the film which opens this week and we absolutely recommend this movie – it’s great to see a comedy written by a woman!

I can speak to both sides. I lived with someone for nearly a decade and have now been married,to someone else, for almost seven years. I can tell you: there IS a difference. W/ marriage, the commitment level is stronger; it’s not as easy to simply walk. Despite the many challenges, almost from day one, both large and small, I love being married and love knowing that someone is truly sharing life w/ me and watching my back. I bet if Jennifer Westfeldt and I had a heart-to-heart talk, she would admit that a ring on her finger is better than none. Mr. Hamm: Step up to the plate already! 🙂
For an independent woman who has a career and own money and doesn’t want kids should NEVER get married. There’s no reason for it.
