We found it very interesting that the writer of Brokeback Mountain, Diana Ossana, discussed the movie at a gay film festival in LA. According to The Holllywood Reporter, Diana believes that Hollywood is STILL homophobic. When they were casting Brokeback a number of “prominent young actors” liked the script but backed out of taking a gay role. “We sent the script to Matt Damon, Edward Norton and Joaquin Phoenix, among others, and nobody would commit.” Funny, we always thought those guys were pretty open-minded…
