Here’s something we didn’t know about Meghan Markle: she grew up on the set of the 90’s TV series Married With Children! Last year Meghan told Esquire magazine that her father Thomas Markle worked on the show as a camera operator and lighting director for ten years, and every day after school she came to the set in her Catholic school uniform and did her homework while her father worked. She admitted the raunchy show was a rather “perverse” place to grow up, but her father shielded her from the naughtier moments. She’s growing on us—and one can’t deny that she is ambitious and “hard-working.”
(We’ll even forget that she pretended to not know who Harry was when they were introduced—insert spasmodic eyeroll here.)
But these are early days.
While her marriage was a PR coup, and helped overall the flagging image of “The Royals,” we are hopeful—for her sake—that she doesn’t prove inconvenient for The Establishment (again, “The Royals”) and end up like her late, lamented mother in-law.
Harry has no Windsor blood in him.
