MEMORIAL DAY IS NOT JUST ABOUT EATING AND SHOPPING

Let’s not forget to put down our barbecue tongs and hot dogs for just a minute and consider what Memorial Day is all about. Thanks in a very large part to our military, we continue to be the luckiest people in the world.

  1. yeah, thanks Janet for the shout out for our military. For people like Audie Murhpy and my stepdad(26 years in the Air Force, flew 250 missions in Vietman). I’m going to call him right now to say thanks.

  2. For me, Memorial Day is not only about remembrances, but about new beginnings. Which is why I generally spend the day planting/gardening.

Thanks to all who sacrificed to allow the rest of us to enjoy new beginnings.

  3. Ditto xyz! Lets thank the government for killing our own to kill other people for no reason but for drugs, gold, water, just stealing other countries for the 1%. Let us celebrate today while we kill some more innocent women, children and making them fatherless tomorrow. Yay, what a country!!!!

  4. In WWII my uncle fought at Anzio beachhead in Italy. He said it was a very violent battle and men all around him were killed and wounded. An Italian family took him in later and nursed him to health and I wish I knew more of the details.

God bless and protect all our brave military.

  5. So true, we are the LUCKIEST people in the world – a lot of people don’t know this…thanks for sharing! Happy Memorial Day!

  6. Nothing like a 10 year long war and illegal occupation to keep them all ’employed’.
