MICHAEL RICHARDS: HE'S NO KRAMER

Michael Richards’ tirade at the Laugh factory isn’t the first time he’s LOST IT with minimal provocation. In fact, his nasty temper is legendery. A few years ago he was eating solo at an Italian restaurant on Melrose Avenue when a middle aged couple walked in. The woman spotted “Kramer” and excitedly asked the host if they could be seated at the next table. As they were seating themselves, the woman said “I hope you don’t mind if we sit here – we’re big fans of yours!” To everyone’s shock, Richards roared “YES, I MIND IF YOU SIT THERE! I’m not some animal in the zoo to be stared at!” The scared woman assured him “We’ll sit somewhere else.” He yelled “I don’t give a F— WHERE you go!” She put her hand his shoulder to calm him and he shouted “Don’t touch me!” The terrified couple backed off to a corner and the restaurant paid for their dinner. Everyone was frozen in their seats, terrifed to look, when Michael finished and stood up to leave. But he walked out smiling and said goodbye to the cook. We think it’s time for anger management counseling.

  1. Isn’t it funny no one is calling for his head like Mel Gibson’s?

  2. Interesting to learn what kind of a jerk he really is…. just at the moment when the box set is being released… HIs career is over.

  3. Latino comedian Paul Rodriguez said he was at the Laugh Factory when the incident happened. He said the black people did NOT heckle Richards.

  4. My husband and I sat next to him in a restaurant in New York (Les Halles) about 5 years ago. He was the nicest person, went out of his way to speak with us, asked us tons of questions about us, etc. I have only good things to say about that encounter with him. He was with his wife and another couple. Its a shame about what he has done.

  5. Freaks like him seem to forget that they ASKED to be a public commodity by their very choice of profession. How sad that the majority of them (celebrities) tend to bit the very hand that feeds them. If you don’t want to be publicly recognized, be a friggin’ trash collector. NOT a globally recognizable television personality. Wanna be able to “blend in”? Get a different job, loser.

  6. Actually, his mother is Jewish so that makes him Jewish according to their laws. I never understood why the mother is more important than the father. I guess if just the father made you Jewish then everybody would be Jewish.

  7. This guy is a nasty piece of work. Some very serious issues are going on here.

  8. This guy is a nasty piece of work. Some very serious issues are going on here.

  9. I stopped watching Seinfeld after a year (I got it, it was about nothing: yawn) but to denigrate an entire population that may have been huge fans and in part the reason for his millions is an insult to the rest of us who might not have a pot to pee in. The dumbing down of America.

  10. Everyone is getting all caught up in the “restaurant” thing. The fact is he was a racist pig. Mel Gibson did the same thing but he was ostracized. Why the double standard?
It amazes me at how people can justify nasty behavior.

  11. I really liked his character Kramer, but now he is dead to me.
I think his career is officially over. If he really is a racist, he should have never reveal it in public.

  12. “Seinfeld” isn’t about nothing! It’s about an Upper West Side group of friends centering on Jerry, a semi-famous comic. That’s such p.r. drivel – – to make it seem existential or deeper than it is. I always thought it was overrated, hated all the characters. “Roseanne” is much better written, deeper, funnier, more true to life. And Richards is a closet fag. I knew a guy in L.A. in the 80s who hooked up with him.

  13. I just finished watching the full clip on msn. What disturbed me as much as Richards’ anger was the laughter that was coming from some of the audience. Perhaps they hadn’t realized that he was being serious.

  14. Regarding the child being considered Jewish only if the mom is Jewish, it’s because of the old saying “mommy’s baby, daddy’s maybe”.

  15. Ever listen to a Chris Rock comedy show? He is no different. Not condoning Richards – but look who’s calling the kettle black! Rock offends me – but I don’t go crying about it. comedians? THEY’RE ALLLL GUILTY! But if you’re black you get carte blanche to cry racism.

  16. I wish people would stop jumping on this Ricahrds is racist bandwagon. The guy was angry! I met him and spoke with him in New York and he was kind, intelligent and polite. By the way, I am black. He was affectionate to his blond date and both came to see my show. You can’t give the Sharptons and Jacksons jobs. Latino and black comedians base their shows on promoting negative stereotypes of their communities and racism. Rap culture promotes misogyny and domestic violence among other things. Wake up and think. Educate yourselves.
look at issues from different angles.

  17. OH BOO HOO! HAVE YOU EVER HEARD CHRIS ROCK’S STAND UP ACT THAT BLATENTLY SLAMS THE WHITE MAN? THAT OFFENDS THE HELL OUT OF ME – BUT YOU DON’T SEE ME SEEKING AN APOLOGY OR A PAY OFF. ALLLL COMEDIANS DO NO DIFFERENT THAN RICHARDS – MAYBE THE LANGUAGE IS NOT ALWAYS AS STRONG, BUT HE IS BEING USED AS A SCAPEGOAT. SO LOOK WHO’S CALLING THE KETTLE BLACK?! A BIG TO DO ABOUT NOTHING!

  18. Why do black people have a blank slate and say whatever they want about white people but white people have to tip-toe around black people? It’s not reverse racism. It’s just plain racism.

  19. Oh cripes, get healed already down there will ya!
    All you sensitive types.
    Life is too short!

  20. I don’t care how often he cries or how “torn apart” he is…His real feelings came out! LOSER!If I was the one in the audience he was screaming at, I would have popped him in the mouth, frigging pig..

  21. Do you want an elderly couple to sit down next you at dinner and watch you eat so they can brag to their friends about it? He’s ABSOLUTELY RIGHT to have told them to go blow. Do you ask the trash collector to pick up after you when you see him out in a restaurant? If you enjoy an artist’s work, watch their show. But for god’s sake, leave them the hell alone when they’re trying to live their lives and they’re not at work.

  22. I hope this didn’t really happen…I love “Kramer”! Even if it IS true, maybe he had a bad day–he WAS eating alone.

  23. I listened to his tirade and it was disturbing. I knew then that it would soon come out that he has some really serious anger problems. I guarantee that he is going to have another scary outburst and insult an individual or a group of individuals. This one may just get him punched in the mouth.
