MICKEY ROURKE AND HIS FASHION INSPIRATION

Against all odds, Mickey Rourke’s idiosyncratic style managed to start a trend – specifically the necklace he wears featuring a framed photo of his deceased dog Loki. The necklace was created by another chihuahua owner, Betina Wassermann, and she sells her $30 jewelry at flea markets round New York. (If you don’t have a pet, you can get a picture of Charles Darwin or Jimi Hendrix instead.)Her business is up about a thousand percent since Mickey wore the necklace to the Oscars. Now we hear that Mickey also saved one of Loki’s toenail clippings and carries it around to feel connected to his best friend. Will that trend catch on?

   All we are is dust in the wind. I imagine Hendrix and other praised notorious people; free of earthly cares, would be greatly ashamed of anyone still admiring and advertizing their tormented, wasted lifestyle.

   Last time i checked rourke was just nominated for an oscar.

    Truly, I prefer it when he wears the jeans and the black leather jacket rather than this new eccentric look, but really, Mickey Rourke is one of the few REAL men left in Hollywood. He says what he thinks, isn’t a phony, is very sensitive and real, a rare gem in a plastic Hollywood world… He still has a great body, and he has a rough, dangerous, sexy street vibe…I know many women well-worth having, that would love to have HIM ! And that whole loving-the-dogs thing? Adorable! Give us some more, Mickey!
