We’re finding it AWFULLY hard to slay goodbye to Paul Newman. Since he was SO photogenic, we’re posting a few more photos. The top one is for the reader who loved him in “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.” The second one with Joanne Woodward, is for everyone who admired his longlasting marriage.

  1. He was one of the greats and I have a feeling that several other celebs are gonna kick the bucket very soon.

  2. My parents knew Mr. Newman casually, as he often visited Daytona and kept a home in Ormond Beach (he was an avid motorsports fan and participant). My mother said this morning that he was one of the funniest and gentle men that she’d ever met, and Ms. Woodward is wonderfully spunky and even funnier. My father said he was a bit of a prankster and a very well-read man. He could converse on almost any topic. My family’s prayers go out to his.

  3. Take note Brangeloons, this is how you do charity.
I think everyone is sick and tired of bubbleheaded hollywood types making stupid political statements. They have turned alot of people off with their ultra-liberal and down right ignorant views…

  4. We shared the same birthday Jan 26th and I was never so proud to be associated with a celebrity. He was so classy, the last of true Hollywood. Rest in peace Mr. Newman, heaven is a brighter place with you there

  6. Janet, your post says ‘We’re finding it’. Who is we?
Is there a new romance in your life the readers should know about?

  7. Hey Anon at 8:16 – shut the f=up about Janet and her “We” phrases. You are a bore. This is the way many people write. Let it go.

  8. Thanks Janet for the pics of our lovely Newman and Liz and his wonderful and loving bride of so may decades, Joanne…a fantastic actress and beautiful woman. Boy, was HE scrumptious!!!!!! I’m worried that Elizabeth may be coming with him soon, she is looking pretty frail lately and has outlived all her contemporaries in spite of her constant efforts to die over her lifetime. I’ll bet she’s feeling very down right now with this loss of her good friend and co-star from one of the best films ever made. Love liz! I worry about her and hope she is hanging in there during this time of stress and of course Joanne too, altho I don’t know anything about HER recent health.

  11. We miss you, Paul. You were a superb actor, a better husband and a great philanthropist.
He did so much for charity – with no fanfare. That’s the sign of a good person. He didn’t do it for recognition, but because it was the right thing to do.
I have a friend whose brother met him through one of his summer camps (as a volunteer) and he highly respected this man.
I pass along my condolences to his wife and children. You have so much to be proud of – and so much to miss. May God bless you.
