What’s WRONG with these Nike people? The company just resigned animal torturer Michael Vick as their spokesperson. He’ll design a line of shoes for them and earn millions of dollars. Back in 2007, Nike dumped Vick after he was convicted of participating in a dogfighting ring and animal cruelty. Now the Nike rep says “Michael acknowledges his past mistakes?” Is THAT all it takes? What Nike may not know is that SOME CRIMES ARE UNFORGIVABLE. Should child molesters, rapists, wife beaters, etc, be given a pass if they “acknowledge” their crimes? Has Nike seen photos of the dogs he destroyed? We consumers who love our pets never want to see Michael Vick’s face again. We can live with Tiger Woods’ bad behavior, but Michael Vick just oozes evil. Nike will never look the same to us.

I know, many think that he has paid his debt to society. He did time. He speaks out against dog fighting. He paid money towards the support of his surviving dogs. But the fact is, had he actually been tried according to the animal cruelty laws in the state of Virginia, he would have been charged with twenty dogfights and the cruel deaths of nine dogs. He would have faced up to sixty-five years in prison. Instead, he was able to plea bargain to one count of dog fighting got a three year suspended sentence for time served on the federal charges of one count of Conspiracy to Travel in Interstate Commerce in Aid of Unlawful Activities and to Sponsor a Dog in an Animal Fight Venture. He served 18 months of that 23 month sentence. And now, he’s making millions, and being held up as a role model.
How many of you think that he would have gotten the same sentence if he weren’t a famous football player?
If he would have tried to hurt my Spot, who would look at him with big trusting eyes, I would have had the strength of 10 men to cut off his entire package and feed it to the birds.
It’s been proven that when you mistreat dogs, especially to the extreme as he did, then you have no qualms about killing a human being if you got mad or someone rubbed you the wrong way. He will get in way bigger trouble than this, sooner or later.

Vick did evil things, but Nike doesn’t care. Their bottom line is Money. Obviously their target market is young black hoodlums, hence the rehiring of Vick.

Well i guess when you have money you get away with everything! He didnt do his time because he got his way and ended up being favored into the NFL. I Love Dogs and can’t see a reason why a Dog needs to fight other dogs..Not unless some dogs try to attack the master or something but to make a Dog Fight has to be fearful to the Dog and on top of that hurting the dog and that means he is going to suffer and go throw pain. But to straight up have a Dog fight is something..I Never ever want to do. He must of told him his point of view and open his heart in many directions and they foregive him and give him another chance and..I think he has learned something from this.?
