NIKE THINKS MICHAEL VICK’S CRIMES ARE NO BIG DEAL- THEY HIRED HIM AGAIN

What’s WRONG with these Nike people? The company just resigned animal torturer Michael Vick as their spokesperson. He’ll design a line of shoes for them and earn millions of dollars. Back in 2007, Nike dumped Vick after he was convicted of participating in a dogfighting ring and animal cruelty. Now the Nike rep says “Michael acknowledges his past mistakes?” Is THAT all it takes? What Nike may not know is that SOME CRIMES ARE UNFORGIVABLE. Should child molesters, rapists, wife beaters, etc, be given a pass if they “acknowledge” their crimes? Has Nike seen photos of the dogs he destroyed? We consumers who love our pets never want to see Michael Vick’s face again. We can live with Tiger Woods’ bad behavior, but Michael Vick just oozes evil. Nike will never look the same to us.

Does Vick care about the dogs he tortured? Does he now surround himself with fine upstanding citizens?:

I know, many think that he has paid his debt to society. He did time. He speaks out against dog fighting. He paid money towards the support of his surviving dogs. But the fact is, had he actually been tried according to the animal cruelty laws in the state of Virginia, he would have been charged with twenty dogfights and the cruel deaths of nine dogs. He would have faced up to sixty-five years in prison. Instead, he was able to plea bargain to one count of dog fighting got a three year suspended sentence for time served on the federal charges of one count of Conspiracy to Travel in Interstate Commerce in Aid of Unlawful Activities and to Sponsor a Dog in an Animal Fight Venture. He served 18 months of that 23 month sentence. And now, he’s making millions, and being held up as a role model.

How many of you think that he would have gotten the same sentence if he weren’t a famous football player?

If he would have tried to hurt my Spot, who would look at him with big trusting eyes, I would have had the strength of 10 men to cut off his entire package and feed it to the birds.

It’s been proven that when you mistreat dogs, especially to the extreme as he did, then you have no qualms about killing a human being if you got mad or someone rubbed you the wrong way. He will get in way bigger trouble than this, sooner or later.

Shame on you Janet gettin’ ppl all worked up over dogs! Out of all the things going on in the world, some of you ppl have nothing better to do than cry over dogs?? It’s a waste of time-FYI, in the new world, dogs will not exist. But in the mean time, please, continue to keep your dog in the house, sleep with them, wash their bowls w/your dishes, kiss them & let them lick you in the mouth.

just because dog fighting and worse with ANY animals is “accepted” and consider fine in other cultures ( and unfortunately HERE) DOES NOT MAKE IT RIGHT. you don’t get it ….. at all…. people ( MEN, true…. so too bad) are literally TERRORIZING these innocent creatures even before they are forced into some unutterable HELL by these souless motherless fucks…

do people thing cruelty to creatures is explainable/rationalized at all?
do they think creatures can’t see, hear, FEEL pain and fear??
do you know how many are literally terrorized constantly before they are even murdered?
i could post a link to a cow forced down on the ground showing 2 men beating kicking and whipping it
BEFORE they kill it….. what makes this ok??
    SHAME on the human race….

As long as men massacre animals, they will kill each other. Indeed, he who sows the seeds of murder and pain cannot reap the joy of love.

Vick did evil things, but Nike doesn’t care. Their bottom line is Money. Obviously their target market is young black hoodlums, hence the rehiring of Vick.

As usual, Reta, you are completely right on — and thanks for doing that research. Vick is SCUM and MENTALLY ILL. Nope, no Nike for me. We consumers DO have power and if enough people protest, maybe Nike will release Vick from this new contract. Money talks.

I will never purchase a NIKE product as long as I live. My letter has been written and sent to Nike. What kind of icy heart could be cruel to an animal? I wouldn’t trust them around little children.

I called NIKE this is their OFFICIAL PR response:
we have resigned mike Vick as a Nike athlete mike acknowledges his past mistake we do not condone those actions, but we support the positive changes he has made to better himself off the field.

i said on the phone to them AND in a long letter of protest what I have said here before:

You can never make the same mistake twice. The second time you make it, it’s no longer a mistake, it’s a choice.

CALL THEM> leave your number and in 5 minutes they call you back so you can tell them what you think…. PLEASE!

Well i guess when you have money you get away with everything! He didnt do his time because he got his way and ended up being favored into the NFL. Normally when someone does something wrong like a teacher ends up molesting or raping a child they automatically are labeled and you dont see them getting their job back. Yea I know many of you Michael Vick Lovers think its totally different but really its not…especially all the Torture and Abuse them poor dogs went through. What he did is basically in a way no different than what happened to the Jews in WWII. Especially nowadays the Genocide on Pit Bulls needs to come to an end! Did you know what MV did to them dogs? The one’s that lost were burned, shot, hung, tortured and left to die a slow agonizing death. The winners fought to win and even if they won sometimes they to die from bad wounds. So if you still think he is a hero than that is pretty messed up!

Come on Janet….I am NOT saying what Michael did was right; however, it called forgiveness and he has paid for his sins. You are TOTALLY WRONG for allowing yourself NOT to forgive.

How dare you compare what Michael did which was awful to child molesters, rapists, wife beaters, etc. You are comparing apples to oranges….and I believe you know it! If not, then maybe you are not as intelligent as I thought you were.

    Get it together!

I Love Dogs and can’t see a reason why a Dog needs to fight other dogs..Not unless some dogs try to attack the master or something but to make a Dog Fight has to be fearful to the Dog and on top of that hurting the dog and that means he is going to suffer and go throw pain. But to straight up have a Dog fight is something..I Never ever want to do. He must of told him his point of view and open his heart in many directions and they foregive him and give him another chance and..I think he has learned something from this.?
