When you walk into Nate n’ Al’s deli in Beverly Hill you can’t help but notice a pile of Larry King’s books for sale at the counter. Larry is a regular for breakfast almost every day and yes, this is the place where he had a screaming match with his wife Shawn and she ran out and he chased her down the street yelling. (The marriage survived.) Judging by the publicity he gets the place, one would think Larry is beloved, but that’s not necessarily so. He has a booth he prefers and if it’s not available immediately, he gets very grouchy. One staffer whispered “He thinks he IS a king – he’s demanding and not pleasant.” And, oh yes, selling the books there was HIS idea.

Truth be told, no one is crazy about the ugly old reprobate. Most of all his old lady, who has been seen out with another man (can’t remember his name). However, I believe they reconciled and the old fool still doesn’t realize she’s hoping she will outlive him and get his dough. To even think of kissing him, let alone doing anything else, is enough to gag a goat.

We (in Australia) see him as a pretend interviewer on various 2nd rate American shows and films but you can’t tell me he does that in real life too. Braces on jeans!??!
