OMAR SHARIF: "INTOXICATED AND BELLIGERENT"

omarcutsharif.jpg
We were disgusted to hear about one time heartthrob and Dr Zhivago star Omar Sharif’s behavior at Mastro’s steakhouse. Sharif, 75, was described as “intoxicated and belligerent” in 2005 when he left the posh restaurant with a female companion. He tried to pay the valet parking attendant with a 20 euro note and when the guy refused the foreign currency, Sharif called him a “stupid Mexican” and PUNCHED him in the face! (In 2002 Sharif was fined for head-butting a French police officer!) The good news is that the parking attendant sued the arrogant actor for assault and battery and was just awarded $318,000 in damages. The bad news is that Sharif lives in Egypt. Good luck collecting.

If you dig deeper, you will learn that the “valet” couldn’t find Sharif’s car. Don’t think I’d tip ANYTHING if someone in customer service couldn’t perform their job properly.
The valet also refused medical treatment at the scene and didn’t have any visible signs of injury yet claimed later he had a broken nose that cost 17k to fix and had 750k in some other kind of “damages.”
Also, if this were completely true, then why didn’t police file any charges? If there were some kind of merit to the valet’s claims (as some witneses say otherwise) then why not an assault charge? Police refused to file criminal charges.
It’s unfortunate that Sharif didn’t fight the suit, but he probably figured it was cheaper.

If “the other side” is correct, then Janet is not doing her job by telling only half the story. Shame.

I don’t care if the valet lost the car or was rude to Sharif, he should not have assaulted him. That was unacceptable. However, I totally believe the valet milked the punch for all it was worth and the judgment was way too high for a punch from an old drunk. The only people who ever win from this are the lawyers.

I don’t understand why this blurb is here. Was he in America recently? This is about an incident in 2005!

NEW UPDATE CHECK IT OUT - HOLLYWOOD WHODUNIT!

  • SCIENTOLOGY IS LOSING ANOTHER MAJOR CELEBRITY
    |

Another one of the most famous female members of the church of Scientology is very quietly planning to extricate herself from the organization. She won’t discuss it now and perhaps never will, but she used to be a close friend of Leah Remini. It’s a brave thing for a celebrity to do, but this actress has been having doubts for awhile and Leah’s anti-Scientology series pushed her even farther. Longtime members have to adjust to losing most of their friends and many business associates (assistants, managers, accountants, nannies etc) so it takes a LOT of preparation. This will be a huge slap in the face of David Miscavige.
