PATRICIA HEATON VS MICHAEL J FOX
Thanks, Page Six, for mentioning our call to readers to boycott Albertson’s because of their spokesperson Patricia Heaton’s stance on stem cell research. Yes, she happens to be a neighbor of ours, but we are on opposite sides of the fence on this issue. Judging from the overwhelming response to this item, people are EXTREMELY passionate about the Michael J. Fox TV ad supporting research. It seems there are at LEAST ten times as many people in FAVOR of research as against it. And they are EAGER to boycott! Readers can vent their feelings on Albertson’s website by clicking HERE or calling 1-877-932-7948. As for us, we no longer walk our dogs past Patricia’s house – just in case!

Thank you for telling the world that low income women should be allowed to donate their embryo’s for Frankenstein science!
I am so sick of my tax dollars paying for welfare and having those welfare kids grow up to be criminals!
Rather than let these welfare children be born – let those unwed mothers sell their embryo’s to Michael J. Fox!
Good Call Janet!

Janet, just for you I’m going to shop daily at Albertsons! I love the place, it ROCKS!
Thanks for the heads up!
The local Albertsons is really nice too, not at all like the poor cousin Safeway. My local Albertsons has a place to put your used plastic bags!
I’ve been recyling them.
Also, it is much cleaner than Safeway, and a bit more upscale. I love it!
Oh and did you know they have Harris Ranch meats in their meat section? Harris Ranch meat is organic, and Whole Foods uses them.
Yay for Albertsons!

This is excellent! Once we start harvesting the embryo’s of low income women and we get that together….NEXT we should start harvesting organs from prisoners on death row!
Why should prisoners in jail have any benefits! Their organs can benefit the good people with illnesses!
There is just no reason we should let perfectly good organs go to waste in prison!

Janet can call for all the boycotts she wants. Problem is that boycotts like the one she is calling doesn’t work. Never has never will.
The funny thing is Janet has this story completely wrong and she isn’t woman enough, or even a responsible journalist, to contact Patricia to get her side of why she is against Amendment 2 in MO.
By Anonymous
On October 30, 2006 at
Patricia is against Amendment 2 in MO because she’s a religious wingnut.
That hasn’t been made clear yet? Huh.
By Anonymous
On October 30, 2006 at
Most of you have no clue as to the arguments for and against stem cell research, the types of stem cell research, Amendment 2 in MO, what Patricia is for or against. You just follow blindly and are clueless as Janet is, which is the typical trademark of liberals..don’t care about the facts but care a lot about the emotion involved.
More research is being done with adult stem cells than embryonic. The reason why there is such a fight to get federal funding for embryonic stem cell is because no private money will used because venture capitalist KNOW that embryonic stem cells show NO PROMISE in curing a thing, contrary to what they airheads like Janet or Michael say. If I knew that embryonic stem cells could be used to grow Janet and many of you nitwits on here a brain, i’d support the federal funding of it.

First off, the woman laughed and said the store has been very busy and that she has never heard of Janet. I laughed too, telling her that this website is a small one and not many people visit it. She also told me that there are always groups that call for boycotts for one strange reason or another and none of them has ever hurt them.

Dear Janet Charlton,
Thank you for contacting Albertsons Customer Care. We received your email regarding Patricia Heaton.
We appreciate you taking the time to voice your concerns over the recent statements made by Patricia Heaton.
While we utilize Ms. Heaton as our spokesperson in our television and radio ads, this does not indicate any endorsement of her personal or political views. We selected Ms. Heaton for her role as spokesperson due to her celebrity persona and high level of awareness with our core customer.
Ms. Heaton is entitled to her own values and beliefs; however, her personal opinions are not necessarily those of Albertsons.
We apologize if you feel offended by any statements she has made, and would ask that you separate those from her role as an actress in our commercials.
Again, thank you for contacting Albertsons Customer Care. If we can provide any information or be of service to you in the future, please do not hesitate to contact us by e-mail or by calling 1-877-932-7948.

I only wish there was an Albertson’s in my neck of the woods–they would have a new shopper. What’s with all the hardcore namecalling? Damn. I feel like my mother but, “Language, ladies!!” We are all entitled to an opinion and to exercise the right to voice it. I think we need to get over ourselves, celebrities especially!
On an odd note, I would be a little irritated with the Streisands of the world for making me pay hundreds of dollars and then having political skits, etc. instead of singing. I readily admit I’m conservative so maybe she irks me more than the average, but I think it would be poor form for a conservative entertainer (is there such a thing?) to do as well. I love Streisand but I will definitely take her recent advice and stay home and listen to her records instead (not like I have the money to dish out anyway for her concerts, sigh).

um…. it seems to me that the majority of posters on this website seem to be under the mistaken impression that stem cell research and therapies would not be legal if it weren’t for this initative. Well, they already are. There already is stem cell research being conducted all across this country that MAY or MAY NOT save lives. The pharmaceutical companies have targeted Missouri and are trying to get this initative passed which, when you really do the reading, legalizes human cloning. It claims to outlaw human cloning, but under the definitions, it misrepresents the definition of cloning, which is in DIRECT CONTRAST to what was ruled in the Missouri Appeals Court.
So, you can boycott Albertsons, hate Patricia Heaton, whatever. It’s politicians that throw this into the mix, knowing full-well that people are going to get up in arms about what they think it means and vote for them because they don’t have their facts right. YOU PEOPLE, INCLUDING YOU, JANET CHARLTON, HAVEN’T THE FAINTEST IDEA WHAT YOU’RE TALKING ABOUT. GET A CLUE! READ SOME WEBSITE OTHER THAN THE PRO-AMENDMENT 2 WEBSITES!!! Know what the REAL issues are! Educate yourselves!! Missourians ALREADY HAVE ACCESS TO STEM CELL RESEARCH AND THERAPIES!!!!!
We, all across this country, have ACCESS to research and therapies. Anybody ever hear of — Bone Marrow Transplants? anybody? anybody? Yes, sir! It’s an EXTREMELY successful therapy that involves, what?, that’s right, stem cells! As last time I did research on the subject, it was legal in all 50 states? That’s right! Amendment 2 wants to go after embroynic cells when the most successful PARKINSONS and Multiple Sclerosis treatments involve cells from the actual patients themselves!!! (It’s called adult-stem-cell regenerative medicine, look it up) And don’t even get me started on unbilical cord blood.
Would you rush out to vote yes on a bill that guarantees clean air and water? Sure!! What if on the second page, it says that in the process of cleaning that air and water, it’s a process that kills all wildlife? Would you vote for it then?
READ, PEOPLE, READ!!!
