PATRICK SCHWARZENEGGER: SO FAR SO GOOD

Photo via: Details

Seventeen year old Patrick Schwarzenegger has inherited his mother Maria Shriver’s social conscience as well as his father’s love of business and free enterprise. Details magazine interviewed the high school student who cofounded a clothing line called Project 360 two years ago. It’s a growing collection of t-shirts, bracelets and hoodies and 10% of the profits go to charity. Patrick recently signed with L.A. Models “to inject capital into his business.” And he enrolled in a five day a week course at Santa Monica College (where dad Arnold studied English) called “Principles of Entrepreneurship.” All this and he hasn’t even started college yet.

  1. Yay.

‘Cause the world is BEGGING for another overpriced T-shirt and hoodie.

  2. I think it’s great that a child of celebrities is a go getter and not just sitting on his rear end looking for handouts a la Kim Stewart. He sounds like he has a great head on his shoulders and will go a long way. Good for him.

  3. But he IS just sitting on his rear end—and we have photographic evidence! 🙂

  4. Selling overpriced hoodies and other rubbish is not my idea of ‘ambition. Didn’t Avril Lavigne try this route?

  5. Oh, and not terribly impressed by the 10% charitable earmark, blah, blah, blah…

One thing old money learned early in this country is how to hang on to their nickels. Most have established “charitable foundations” which means their income tax liability is virtually nil.

Look into to his cousins’ much-derided “charitable” “Citizens Energy Corp.” in Boston.

  6. Yep…a good example is the foundation of J Lo which puts relatives on the payroll at high wages, garners publicity, and does nada!

    A tax scam for certain.

Hopefully the son is heading down the right track. I think they may be good parents.

  7. I’m happy he seems to be driven and doing something with his life, but I had to chuckle that he’s modeling simply to add capital to his business. Suuuuuuuuure. Everyone go read the article about Gwyneth Paltrow. Soon we’ll be reading how the Schwarzenegger kids have all worked their asses off for their zillions of dollars and if we would just do the same………….

  8. Definitely like this kid. Seems to be turning out well. Hopefully he’ll remember he was born on 3rd base and stay normal. I’m not a fan of the Kennedy offspring’s royalty mentality in general including Maria, so I give the credit to his father.

  9. Man is Pat adorable our what!!!!

Sure he’s privileged but that’s not Patrick (DROOL WORTHY) Schwarzenegger’s fault? Let’s see what this cutie does with his life? From what I can see he’s gonna do ALLOT!

  10. Patrick’s sister Katharine is coming into her own as well. I think both parents have done a terrific job, and say what you will about Maria and other Kennedy royalty, but Maria has long an advocate of public service and volunteerism — her mom started
the Special Olympics and her dad headed up the Peace Corps. I also once worked for a tabloid and I remember one of our reporters approaching her and she was as nice as could be. 🙂

  11. Hilary, both Maria and Caroline lost me when they used their influence to manipulate the TV industry and halt broadcast of The Kennedys miniseries, and all because they objected to some manufactured innocuous dialog necessary to help carry an otherwise fact based, historical story. It speaks volumes about the royalty mentality I mentioned.

  12. Maybe he’s a wonderful kid and will do great things, but like Gwenyth P, the Smith kids, etc., I find it hard to give them the same respect as the kid who grew up poor with obstacles but made a real difference in the world just the same. These types of rich kids always have start-up money, rich parents to sort out things if they go badly, rich friends to buy whatever stuff they are pedalling. You just can’t compare their success to “regular” people.

  13. Give this kid a break, ok? Up to now he’s ok in my book at least.

  14. “Yo, laundress, wash my pants and be sure to get all the damn sand out of them and be snappy about it”—-Patrick S.

  15. Well, bully for Patrick and the continuation of blue blood superiority. (I watched The Kennedy’s mini series and it was good!!!!)

  16. I hope Patrick doesn’t realize what a scumbag and douchebag his Dad is.
