Things are looking up for “Station Agent” star Peter Dinklage, 42. His role on “Game of Thrones” already has Emmy buzz and now his wife of 6 years, director Erica Schmidt, is expecting their first child. In the photo above, pregnant Erica looks a little queasy and Peter appears uncertain about what to do.

Guess it just goes to show, that just because you are vertically challenged, it does not necessarily mean you can’t be, ahem, well equipped!!

What person gives themselves a filthy trashy professional name if they’re not a porn star? And why is she wearing pajama bottoms underneath the dress?
We first saw Peter (although we didn’t know it at the time), back circa 1993, as “Tito, The Angry Dwarf,” in “Living in Oblivion.”
Funny, inventive, movie (It was our first time seeing Catherine Keener, too).
Later he appeared in an all-time favorite: “The Station Agent.” WOW. What a great film. His eyes are a world of pain in that one; he played opposite another wonderful actress— Patricia Clarkson.
“Game of Thrones” is pure junk (as was “Nip/Tuck,” on which he also served time, but it’s steady work, and here’s to Peter making a ton of money! 🙂

Bluejay: WHO’s name are you talking about? If it’s Peter, that’s the name he was born with. Look it up. Easy enough to do. The guy happens to be a terrific actor, and I LOVED him in The Station Agent. He really brought heart to the charactor and made me feel for him and really care about not only the charactor but the actor who played him. I’m happy to see that his career has continued on and his private liefe is flourishing. I wish he and his wife everything they want, and continued success and best wishes for the new baby. I’ll happily look forward to seeing him again.
Mona: you didn’t dig Nip/Tuck? One of my favorite shows! FX really has the balls to do some different things, but sometimes they cancel them too soon, like “The Riches” which got rave revies and all my friends loved it, as did I. Looked forward to it each week. But maybe their big star leads needed out to do other things that were bigger. It was GREAT while it lasted tho!

I always thought what a cruel fate for this guy to be named Dinklage.

Reta: I thought N/T relied too much on shock at the great expense of characterization, plotting, etc.
But its CARDINAL sin, IMHO? Production Design. The show was supposed to be set in Miami, but clearly it was never shot there.
Los Angeles is a poor substitute, in that regard—as Miami would be, subbing for LA. What it meant was that the interiors were generally underlit, and there were remarkably few windows—in one of the surgeon’s houses in particular. It all looked dark and cheap to me—so much so that it was a distraction.
Later, I heard that the locale of the show was moved to—wait for it—LA! (but by then I’d already set fire to my last TV 🙂 )
But Peter Dinklage was excellent, as always. And I think Joely Richardson is one of the most beautiful women in Movies/TV.
I will say this: If the two doctors (I’m thinking especially of the dark-haired one—who is the real life son of a former Australian PM)—anyway, if the two doctors had finally given in to the obvious sexual tension that seemed to exist between them, well, maybe that would have been enough to hold my interest. 😉

Game of Thrones may not be for everyone, but I’m loving it. Peter Dinklage, along with the rest of the cast, is wonderful. Wish him and his wife all the best with their baby.
“Dinklage” is the name of a town in Germany–and since Peter Dinklage’s father is of German heritage, it’s no doubt where their forebears lived. Nothing pornographic about it. (Some of you posters need to seriously grow up.)

D&R: I was, methinks, a bit too harsh on “Game of Thrones.” It is very well-produced and Peter is terrific in it.
Even better: SEAN BEAN is also in the cast. If you can dig it up, look for the rare “Caravaggio” starring Sean and a very young (19ish) Tilda Swinton.
Wonderful fantastic…Good for them both.
Its a good way to blend the family blood lines together and at the same time give them both some one to love.
