PRINCE AT BILLBOARD AWARDS: A 1970’S DREAMBOAT

On the other hand, we have Prince at the Billboard awards, looking out of this world. His seventies look – the afro, eyeliner, fringed jacket and bellbottoms – seems inspired by Jimi Hendrix and Little Richard combined. Prince is still going strong at 54 – it’s a shame that Michael Jackson didn’t age as comfortably as Prince.

  1. He looks very “Hendrix-y” here. Very cool. We’ve met him and he’s actually very nice and low key in person. Will chat about anything. And a brilliant musician.

  2. he doesn’t look 54 years old but he does look like a flaming queen.

  3. @ Noble, actually he loves women, loves to be around them, always has a girlfriend, he’s no MJ, trust.

  4. I have to first dowse all of the true and rumored idiosyncrasies into gas & flames to focus all light on the music & various talents he possessed. I give great love to the fact that we don’t ever have to see PRINCE become a parody of himself or look like Keith Richards. He was a class act. He was licensed not to age badly because of his 5’2″ lifelong height insecurity. I’ve seen people with insecurities but, he took his height to a very special level. Platform sneakers? High heel slippers? Sad he couldn’t brush it off but, neither could Napoleon. He put far to much emphasis on the cards he was dealt physically, which is comical in parallel to him accepting the talent he was dealt. He was of great intelligence but, couldn’t accept that part of himself. All the great things he looked past & let that get to him so badly. In hindsight that’s what cost him his life. He was taking opiates because his hips deteriorated from the constant pressure of 5 inch heels and dancing, jumping etc….. His part of the stage was always higher & all band, backup players were banned from standing on it. The afro added many inches. (Fletch?)Had he not made such a big deal of it, fans would’ve chalked it up as part of the androgyny he played like an instrument.

  5. Did he change his name again? What does Black Prince mean?
