QUEEN SOFIA VISITS SPAINS MOST FAMOUS TWINS

Queen Sofia of Spain took time to visit two of her country’s biggest celebrities at the Madrid zoo. These impossibly cuddly six month old twin giant panda cubs named Po and De De are the biggest draw in the zoo because none have been born in Spain since 1982. A Chinese veterinarian assisted in the artificial insemination (pandas are notoriously shy about sex) and the delivery. When these nearly extinct animals are born they weight only 6 ounces – lighter than an apple – and they grow up to weigh over 200 pounds

  1. Those panditas are seriously cute! Queen Sofia has been very supportive of the pandas but even she looks overwhelmed by their playfulness. Adorable picture.

  2. Is that panda rubbing its ass on her leg? No wonder she looks surprised.

  3. just don’t hugthem.
    ………THESE TWINS CAN KILL YA!!

  4. My dream job would be getting paid to just cuddle & spoil baby animals all day.

  5. The queen has good views on the GAY issue as well…as opposing marriage between 2 men or a man and this panda:

In the book’s most notorious comment, the queen is quoted as saying that she respects people’s different sexual orientations but does not understand why “they should feel proud to be gay.”

“That they get up on floats and parade in the streets? If all of us who are not gay were to parade in the streets, we’d halt the traffic in every city,” she says.

She adds that while gay people had a right to unions with one another, they should not call them marriages.

  6. ANY human being who want to marry or call it that (semantics) should be entitiled to do so. Who was it that said “they have the same right to be miserable as the rest of us”. Also, as in Rosie MacDonell, they have the same right to have it go sour and wind up in divorce. Frankly tho, with Rosie’s obvious bi-polar disorder, she has been finding it hard to get along for long periods of time with ANYONE. I feel for her kids who are stuck with her.

Back to the Queen and the pandas. They are adorable, but i worry about these animals, such as the famous Klut the polar bear who recently died at age 4 in captivity. I know the pandas are being helped by being bred in captivity, but it still worries me when people get involved with these wild animals.
Really bad things happen… a highly poinsonous snake loose in New York for instance, but also wonderful things like adding to the dwindling nearly extinct pandas.
Glad she is an open-minded Queen. I second her emotion on the parades and floats too. Don’t get why we have to have scantily clad dongs waggled in eyes level from a float and naked buns flaunted from the othe side of them. Don’t for a SECOND care what sexual orientation these people have, but don’t want to see “their junk” either. Just go home and love who you love and keep your flamboyant crap to yourselves. The public doesn’t need or want to see that!

  7. @ Walt Cliff:

Heartwarming job description, but wouldn’t you be concerned about becoming too attached to these cuddly little animals?
