We are absolute fans of Ralph Lauren and his preppy horsey look, but he dropped the ball when it came to the Olympic uniforms at Sochi. Patchwork is NEVER right. It was wrong in the 70’s and it’s still wrong. Paper magazine compares and critiques all the uniforms HERE – fashionistas take a look!

Yeah, they’re hideous. I didn’t like what he did for them last time either. Time to let another American designer take over.

I wouldn’t wear one. Too much clutter sewed to them. The random bunching of stars and strips is distracting. You’re so distracted by the jumble of stuff that you don’t look at the athlete’s face. The olympics should be about the athlete, who has done so much to get this far.
Lot’s of money for Ralph. No American uniforms have been great since Levi’s did them one year when they were all made in USA.

The sweaters make my eyes hurt big time. Looks like a child designed the outfits.

So there are things I like and things I don’t like. I think it would have been really cool if NOT so busy.
Those sweaters are sold out & people are selling them for $3,000 on ebay!!
So awful, yes, an UG-G-LY piece of crap. RL screwed up once again. Complete lack of taste, design, or styling. Are the sweaters by chance acrylic? I’ll bet they pill like hell after two wearings.

I loved The Netherlands the best, then Switzerland and then, surprisingly, Mongolia. Canada is pretty cool. While I agree the USA sweaters are a bit much, I do like the blanket jacket (like Canada’s).
Ralph’s not known for original thinking, likes to copy British bespoke styles , perhaps this something he actually did himself, fail.
Ralph is in it for the $$$ and got the contract
