Dennis Quaid’s biggest fear came true when he moved to Austin, Texas. He has a phobia of rats. He was in the process of moving his family into a rented lakefront mansion there when he spotted a rat scurrying tin the basement. He FREAKED and packed up the wife and kids and all their stuff and moved right out. He wouldn’t listen to the locals who told him rats were common around properties on the water and no big deal. He wants his money back and he and the landlord are now suing each other. (Above, Dennis and his wife Kimberly and son Jack from exwife Meg Ryan)

I’m with Dennis on this one. I hate rats and mice! There’s no excuse for them in a properly maintained house, I don’t care where it is-find the damn holes and plug them up!

I agree. Where I live there was just a woman put out that was an extreme hoarder. The damage she did to that apartment, let alone the surrounding apartments is in the many thousands.

On another note, that unfortunate boy. The combination of genes of Meg and Dennis does not sit well on his young face. Hope the new twins fare better with this wife. her features are not as odd as Meg’s. THIS boy looks much like Meg, unfortunately for him.

so this is why he hates hollywood?

@Reta: I was thinking the same thing re: poor Jack! I had a friend years ago who befriended the illegitimate daughter of Tyrone Power and some starlet. My friend said the poor girl had the busy eyebrows and low forehead of Power — just, the worst features for a woman! I remember Jack being a very cute little boy, too. Also, I *hate* rats and don’t blame Dennis one bit! 🙂

Jack Quaid actually looks really great these days and yes, he does look more like his famous mom: http://www.interviewmagazine.com/film/jack-quaid/

That photo is OLD and the boy looks unhappy to have to pose next to his stepmonster.

As for Dennis Quaid: not feeling sorry for him!! He should have inspected the house better, it’s next to a lake for goodness sake. Heck, his wife used to be in real estate and her family still is. It’s their own fault and I hope they don’t get a dime!

Sarha, I believe there is a law that things like that must be disclosed prior to a sale. Same as for things like mold. These are health hazards and Dennis and his family have small twins to protect.

I remember when my firstborn (now 43) was just under a year old I heard about a baby in New York that had it’s fingertips chewed off while in it’s crib! It scared the holy crap out of me as a very young new mother and gave me horrific nightmares!

Well duh, who doesn’t hate and fear rats?

    Except one:

Bindi Sue Irwin has a large pet rat. I remember a few months ago she came on Oprah with the pet rat on her shoulder. The whole time during the interview, the rat crawled around on her head, lap, and shoulder. Oprah could hardly believe it and flat out told her she had never seen anything like it. I kept hoping the rat would jump on Oprah.

Hate to admit it, but I agree with Strom on this one. The house should have been inspected.

Indy, I have a friend who had pet rats. They were quite sweet and not to be confused with your ordinary alley/pier rat. I would have wanted to see it jump on Oprah too. 🙂

LOL Indy, I would have wanted it to jump on “The Oprah” too. I have heard the pet variety of rats are different from the vermin type rats, but I still don’t want anything to do with them.

    Kitty, ditto

Gutter rats, pet rats, mice = horrors. 🙁

I hope Dennis Quaid doesn’t have any of the mental issues that his brother Randy has (not to mention Randy’s wife).

I do remember rumors of Dennis having an unhealthy obsession with weight (in the 1990’s) and was said to have had anorexia nervosa. I can’t help but wonder if he encouraged Ryan to stay rail thin as well.

Good lord REta, your firstborn is 43?!
    That’s older than my precious.
I’ll still give ya a rumble though.
I have a soft spot for the fat, older, ones.

Dennis Quaid in the movie “The Big Easy” was as hot as hell.

I think Meg Ryan has always been rail thin, Walt. But yeah, Dennis Quaid had some major issues. Severe cocain addiction for over a decade, weight problems, alcohol problems and he’s a known serial cheater. Just ask his three wives 😉

I miss seeing Dennis act. He is MUCH better than that other actress wife of his that is always playing the ‘girly’ parts. What’s her name? Meg? Peg?

Hi Jennifer, You maybe right about that. Regardless, She is certainly a frail looking little thing.

GOGO! LOL! Meg Ryan is only like 1000 times more famous than Dennis around the world 😉
Plus I think he is overrated as an actor. Just look at the crappy movies he’s made this past decade.

Love him or hate him, this guy is a loudmouth who doesn’t hesitate to tell it like he sees it- but there’s one thing he NEVER talks about: his prostate problem. Long story short: he LEAKS! He likes to project an image of macho virility, but under his custom made suits are custom made “diapers.” He’s VERY self-conscious and has absorbent but undetectable “panty liners” sewn into all his underwear, to avoid wet spots. Thanks to his arrogant behavior, he has more than a few enemies and he’s terrified his secret will be exposed and he’ll be forever ridiculed!
