REALTORS IN L.A. ARE NOW SELLING VALUABLE SPACE IN THE CEMETERY

Real estate in Los Angeles remains flat except for a tiny pocket of properties located in Westwood. Pierce Brothers Memorial Park cemetery- to be exact. This is where Marilyn Monroe, Dean Martin, Natalie Wood, Jack Lemmon, and Burt Lancaster etc. currently reside and the neighborhood is in high demand. A crypt located above Marilyn Monroe’s was rumored to have sold for 4.6 million. Realtor Henry Keleman is representing a client offering a crypt next to Truman Capote – around 30 feet from Marilyn – for $100,000. There are very few – if any- spaces left, says Henry “It’s a matter of supply and demand.”

  1. At those exorbitant prices, I guess the rich and famous are “just dying” to qualify for such an in demand final resting place!!

  2. the downfall of an empire called: The United States Of America!!

  3. I find this comical. Who cares where you are buried after you die? It’s not as if the rich and famous arise at night and you get to stand around with them having cocktails.

  4. Some people have there own personal reason to hold on to locations and areas..Because the place or the space has meaning and understanding and some love attached to it and they may want that spot for another reason and feel at this time they just want to hold on to something and have it as security and something to fall back on.?

  5. Somebody’s making a killing in real estate. I have visited this site alot to show visiting friends & family. Eva Gabor is there, Bob Crane, Dorothy Stratten, Minnie Ripperton, Carl Wilson, Mel Torme, John Casavettes, Heather O’Rourke, Ross Hunter. Farrah Fawcett, Rodney Dangerfield, Caroll O’Connor, Fanny Brice, Elizabeth Taylor’s parents, etc. It’s like paying respects to people you’ve admired in life. I think it was Marilyn Monroe who put this spot on the map.

  6. Denise, how do you know? Wanna join me there, late late late some night for a cocktail with everybody? I’ll bet the conversation between Marilyn and Truman is scintillating!

  7. How’s this for an idea in today’s shinking world? If people insist on being “buried” how about putting them in the lovely planted areas along our freeways? Might as well use those spaces for something! Or we could plant them in the potholes before we fill them in…(yeah, like THAT could happen…filling in a pothole)!
