REBBIE JACKSON’S “CENTIPEDE” WILL MAKE YOU SHUDDER

We wondered what happened to Rebbie Jackson’s singing career. The oldest Jackson sibling married young and at 34 recorded “Centipede,” which was her first video in 1984. Our relentless colleague, Stephen Saban at World of Wonder dug up this early sample of her work, which actually had moderate success. After three more albums, Rebbie retired from music in 1998. She has a Jackson voice, but this particular song is unnerving, to put it mildly.

  2. I actually worked on that video. Cool to see it again. Rebbie is the ONLY normal Jackson. A very nice person from a sick family. Now she’s trying to get record deals for her own kids, as well as Janet’s secret daughter Renee who Rebbie raised.

  4. How did I miss this song in the 80’s? I’ve never heard of it. Who ever found a centipede to be exotic, exciting or sexy? I think most people stomp them when they see them…ick…

  14. If she DID have a kid, why is it such a secret and why didn’t she raise the girl herself? This has GOT to be the strangest all time family I have EVER heard of! I always did wonder why Janet and LaToya never had any kids. It seems so strange too considering how the brothers went ape shit having kids (except for that child molester MJ who just bought 3 white kids instead)!

I bet you can still move a crowd and people would love to hear you sing that song again but if your too old and feel really shy and scared to be the center of attention!!!It is best to allow your song to be played in movies and other ways your music can come out but you should allow every one to use your song for small parts hear and there and you can still make money?

  33. First up, although I do love the song Centipede, I think this video is VERY creepy! The look in Rebbie’s eyes is almost demon-like, a bit like Bananarama in the “Venus” video, with the horns/tail. I think she’s trying to portray herself as a demon, maybe that’s what she wanted, especially since Michael wrote it he maybe wanted it to have the same type of effect as Thriller, cos it’s very creepy! Every time I hear it I usually have bad dreams or experiences, but I do like the song! x
