RICHARD GRIECO PUT DOWN HIS GUN, AND PICKED UP A PAINTBRUSH

Richard Grieco’s publicist describes him as “a cultural icon” for his appearance on the 80’s TV series 21 Jump Street. We’re not so sure about that, but it is kind of interesting that the actor, 48, (didn’t he replace Johnny Depp on the series?) is also an artist, and has been since 1991. He has a one man show opening in August at the Gallerie Sparta on Sunset, featuring his paintings that he describes as “abstract emotionalism.”

  1. I have to say, I really love his art. I will definitely check out his art. Please post more details about the dates janet. Thank you.

  2. That painting looks like crumbling plaster. A little spackling compound should fix it up.

  3. On ’60 Minutes’, they had an elephant dip his trunk in several pails of paint and slop it on a canvas….looked about the same as Grieco’s. The good part is it fooled the so-called art critics who call the elephant’s paintings masterpieces. lol

  4. Yup…. You can tell he’s a serious artist…. he’s wearing his ‘serious artist ‘ hat! Crap work.

  5. Hey, I can throw paint onto a canvas. Does that make me an “artist”?

  6. Time has not been kind…he looks horrible for 48! Drugs and alcohol do that to you.

  7. @ Shelby … No , it doesn’t make you an ‘artist’ … not until you are photographed with your ‘serious artist hat’ … otherwise you just look like every other no talent celebrity who says he’s an ‘ artist’
and just splatters shit on a wall…,but cheer up …beret’s are coming back in fashion !!!.

  8. All I remember him for is getting arrested with Yasmine Bleeth. What happened to her?

  9. That blows. How sad he was hot and a person as well. That’s shit NOT the shit either.
