Rooney Mara, 33, is always a red carpet rebel – flamboyance is not her middle name. That makes her more interesting than most – while much of Hollywood is at Halloween parties, Rooney stepped out for an animal charity. Yes, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo star is wearing a harness, but it is NOT leather. Shy and standoffish, Rooney met her match in Joaquin Phoenix when they costarred in Mary Magdalene and they are now living together rather reclusively in the Hollywood Hills, with NO plans for marriage.

Though truly GHASTLY, Rooney’s ensemble is actually a very clever design: in wearing it, she was able to hitch herself to the couple’s Prius, and pull it and Joaquin to the event, all under her own power.
Notice how the skirt is ingeniously fashioned to cool the legs–and act as a “spoiler”?
At just under 14 hours for the six mile trip, the pace was not brisk, true, but Rooney’s “climate karma” is off the charts–and to that we offer kudos!
