We’ve always been fascinated by Sean Penn’s marriage to Robin Wright Penn. Despite being an accomplished actor, Sean still seems to be an angry and ungrateful person. Not to mention a know-it-all. Lovely Robin (who sometimes reminds us of Grace Kelly) seems like a beautiful prize that Sean is VERY lucky to have gotten, and their marriage has lasted 11 years. We can only IMAGINE what Robin goes through. Recently Robin was at Sean’s side on the red carpet at the premier of his directorial effort Into the Wild. Sean ignored the cameras and when Robin paused to smile for photos, he yanked her inside the theater. Weeks later, Robin walked the red carpet alone (where ‘s the supportive husband?) at the premier of HER film Beowulf and she happily smiled and posed for the press. A photographer said “You’re SO much nicer when you leave that husband at home!” Robin couldn’t help but laugh.
He is a first-class jerk. ROBIN should spread her wings and fly away post haste.
He met with Hugo Chavez. Enough said.

I ran into Robin the other day at a satellite press tour…she looked SENSATIONAL. Never better. She was with Cary Elwes, promoting the 20th Anniversary DVD of “The Princess Bride,” but he’s changed so much half the crew didn’t even know who he was when he showed up for the interviews.
Whatever he is, or isn’t, the fact remains that she picked him.

I sincerely doubt Sean “forced” Madonna to do anything. If she was in a chicken suit or a closet, you can be damn sure it’s because she wanted to be there.
Also, Sean meeting with Hugo Chavez just means that he is willing to find out on his own what the truth about things really are, and that he is not automatically believing the CRAP that our government has been trying to force feed us since 9/11. Geez, try watching the documentary “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised” and then tell me you think Bush is good and Chavez is bad. Don’t be a bunch of lemmings. Now I don’t like Bush but he is not a dictator. He will be gone in less then two years…you can’t say that about Chavez, who is trying to be there indefinately.

Preachy people in general, I find irritating, so I understand if that’s your grievance, but the assertion that people should only express themselves in one way confuses me. I don’t see any reason why figures in the public eye should forfeit their right to a political viewpoint, any more than the rest of us.
