Katharine McPhee is not faking illness to squirm out of the American Idols tour. Since she was diagnosed with laryngitis , there’s been a lot of speculation that Katharine had OTHER things she wanted to do, rather than tour with the gang. She has NOT been performing elsewhere as rumored. Our inside source tells us that Katharine has been forbidden to even speak – she communicates by “mouthing” words (not even whispering) or text messaging. She’s taken doctors orders very seriously, and hasn’t spoken at all at home. And she is actually very anxious to join the tour and see all her friends again. According to her doctor, it will happen any day now.

Janet I am really disappointed that you are passing this bit of “news” on to your loyal, if unsatisfied, readers. I comb your webpage week after week and am repeatedly disappointed with your apparent disinterest in printing anything but recycled celebrity headlines from days – years ago! If you continue to take your readers for granted and keep printing this junk, you will find yourself with no readers still around when you Finally return to the level of professionalism we have come to expect from you. I invite other readers to begin protesting with me if they are unhappy with what they read here by not visiting this site anymore…..switch to one of the other gossip sites….dlisted,perez,PITNB….and send a clear message!

FYI: As someone who used to suffer from chronic laryngitis, I just wanted to comment on the part about whispering. I didn’t know before the laryngitis that whispering is actually rougher on the vocal chords than talking, so that’s why they recommend no sounds whatsover to recover. I used to use a kid’s writing slate to communicate! If you don’t rest the vocal chords entirely, you could ruin your voice. I’m sure her doctors will recommend vocal therapy to learn how to sing properly (many newly professional vocalists don’t really know how) so as not to strain her voice. This is really boring, isn’t it? 😀

Anon 2:32 – Not boring! As a teacher who seemed to keep bronchitis and laryngitis last year, I wholeheartedly agree that whispering takes more of toll on the vocal chords than talking! I hope that she’s better soon!

So true. The whispering thing is worse than anything. She’s smart to take care of it now… just tell Simon to go screw the tour!

I think that Kat is a wanna be Diva and she is doing everything she can to get out of the tour!

One of America’s Sweethearts is battling a serious drug addiction- not hers, but her best friend’s. Through the years these two have been stuck to one another like white on rice and her fame rubbed off on her pal. They’ve been roomies, have worked together on set, and even launched a business venture together. But all that success has come with a price. After years of being sober, the less famous friend has fallen HARD off the wagon and our gal doesn’t know what to do. She’s hosted an intervention, hired an addiction specialist, and even threatened to end the friendship, but nothing seems to work. What’s a girl to do?
