SID CAESAR WAS ONE OF THE FUNNIEST COMICS EVER ON TV

The late Sid Caesar’s Show of Shows was like the Saturday Night Live of the 50’s – everybody talked about it the next day. We remember our father laughing uproariously at Sid Caesar and Imogene Coca playing husband and wife in sketches. There was something sexy about Sid in those days – he was big and husky and had shiny slicked back hair. His amazing list of comedy writers included Mel Brooks, Neil Simon, Carl Reiner and Woody Allen. (Above is a sketch of Imogene dragging her husband to an early health food restaurant )

TV comedy was pretty much jewboy dominated in the early 50s and the style didn’t play well even into the 60s.

Meaning strom that you’ve never once had even the slightest shred of humor, or ever smiled. Pitiful, pathetic, creepy.

You’re right, Herr Strom isn’t capable of much beyond his creepy, obsessive brand of hatred ( except maybe, lying about Afghanistan). Humour, no, not likely, as he’s missing that gene entirely.

Little Alex, or some other name….has no knowledge of what it speaks of. Probably never knew a famous author or visited a gala book signing event. Wouldn’t have the personality to participate in the Q & A.

There were many great comedians of the era,,,but Sidney’s humor was not for everyone.

Go ahead strom say something funny or witty. We double dare you.

Poor little Gone, multi names seem to e in on JC.

What would be funny is for the Kardashians to show up with someone white, or a BLACK male celebrity with a BLACK female.

strom you can’t say anything witty. Boorish yes. Now its a triple dare.

Poor little posters, worrying so much about what Strom does but totally unable to add to the thread anything relevant.

What would be witty is to see your look of amazement at a book signing or other cultural event.

Jack Benny and Jackie Gleason were comics from that era who were better than Sid. Wasn’t Milton Berle known for pumping Imogene Coca and Martha Raye….2 big mouths?

This celebrity divorce came out of nowhere – the couple had seemed to be SO happy. Until, that is, the wife found out that her husband was quietly negotiating a settlement with a Hollywood madam. Her handsome husband had always had a wandering eye, but the forgiving wife flipped out when she learned that the Madam accused the husband of raping her and she threatened a lawsuit if he didn’t hand over some big bucks. ENOUGH she decided, and the wife immediately filed for divorce.
    Guess who!!!!
