Like it or not girls, this is what your hair will be looking like within a year or so. Almost without exception, Madonna debuts a hairstyle first and eventually all levels of stylists and their customers pick up on it. (A historical search of Madonna photos will verify this fact.) Currently she has grown her hair long and often wears braids, but when the braids are combed out, she has these tight little waves. On the upside, it’s low maintenance for her visits to Malawe, Africa.

I love her continued decades of revamping herself and staying relevant but I’d really like to see her go the elegant older woman route.

The (weekly?) dyeing black of her now BONE GRAY roots, in order to promote some ludicrous image of eternal youth, is one facet of her style that not everyone will want–or need–to emulate, of course. 😀
McDonna looks TERRIFIC here, by the way; and as for her hairstyle, we’ve liked it ever since Academy Award-winning singer-songwriter Irene Cara wore it circa 1980.
And we couldn’t forget the beautifully-voiced Nicolette Larson, who wore her waist-length hair in the same style–around the time that Irene did.
