This dog is the reason Tatum O’Neal gives for going crack shopping. Her 16 year old beloved Scottish Terrier Lena (shown above in 2006) was sick with cancer and Tatum and her daughter had to have their dog put down. Devastation over the loss drove Tatum to seek solace in the streets. Are we the only ones who completely BELIEVE this excuse? We feel for her. What could be more agonizing? Give Tatum a break. And sign her up for Celebrity Rehab.

  1. The fact that she’s trying to score in a park would indicate she doesn’t have a number to call dial a dope and is pretty much outta the scene. Shitty luck Tatum!
    See ya on Oprah…again.

  2. THE CRACK-BUSINESS IS RELATED TO DOGS?

  3. 9:39, exactly! She’s an O’Neal, notorious dopers; her half brother Redmond has been in rehab over ten times and Griffin is a mess (accidently killed a Coppola kid), her dad Ryan is abusive so with her genes Tatum ought to have a dealer on speed-dial.

  4. Losing a loved one, whether human or animal is very hard. But most people survive it without buying crack from a homeless street person. She’s had all the breaks in the world but also a horrible private life. Move to India and become a Buddhist. Its a better answer than street drugs.

  5. not quite, Miss JC.
My own pet was killed recently and I was devastated but I did not smoke crack cocaine or inject heroin to fell better. I cried for days on end and was depressed.
Do not make excuses for drug abusers.
Miss Oneill is an addict who had a relapse. I hope she recovers, she has three children who need their mom around and sober.

  6. pardon me, fell= feel.
    I am no stoic.
I was miserable after the death of my pet.
But it never occurred to be to get high because I was feeling so horrible.
Leave that sh!t alone, it will ruin your life.

  7. To stay sober is hard. I wss a drunk. I have been sober for 10 years but I work at it everday.

  8. My beloved cocker spaniel died just 8 days into my sobriety. I felt that drinking (using) would have dishonored her memory and now I’m about to celebrate my third year sober. Too bad Tatum didn’t have the same perspective. But, frankly, I have a hard time believing this is the first time she tried to score and she was so unlucky she got caught. That’s what an addict would want you to believe, but c’mon.

  9. Are you high!? The death of a loved one, human or canine, no matter how devastating does not justify turning to drugs.

  10. oh Pleeze! I had to put down my cat that was 17 years old! I didn’t hit the streets looking for crack. I’m surprise Janet that you think that’s a good excuse.

  11. Poor girl, it’s like she never had a chance with her horrible upbringing.. I sure do feel for her. And for those of you that have no idea what it’s like to have an addiction and what kinds of things trigger a relapse, shut the hell up and buy a clue !! No one is justifying it just understanding how she got to that point.

  12. With that drunken, drug-using, whore-chasing,self-adoring, violent abuser Ryan O’Neal as a “father” Tatum never stood a chance. You know he hated her ever since she won an Oscar. Add that to her family history of drug use and mental illness on both sides, and the only wonder is that she is still alive. She married a jerk just like Daddy (only uglier, and worse smelling) who treated her the same way Dad did. Being born famous doesn’t protect you from heartbreak.

  13. Going out for crack was a bit extreme, but as one who has lost two beloved cats to cancer, I really feel her grief. People handle things (including grief) in different ways, but she should have gone to a friend for comfort, not cocaine.

  14. If the drug dealer cut her head off and raped her as she died she might be happier now? Ever hear of doctors and modern medicine for depression?

  15. I agree with you Janet. People should not judge Tatum O’Neil because that haven’t been through what she has. Everyone copes with tragedy differently.

  16. Leave Janet Alone! When her goldfish passed away she was seen in LA’s MacArthur Park, trying to score drugs too. She speaks from experience. Of course it wasn’t crack cocaine she was buying but Midol and a tube of Preparation H.

  17. Geez, most dogs just get blamed for their owners’ farts. I feel for any dog that Tatum O’Neal lives with, in the past and future.

  18. TATUM WAS RAISED AND TREATED AS AN ADULT FROM THE TIME SHE UPSTAGED HER FUNKY MEAN FATHER AND BECAME THE BREAD WINNER AND BABE MAGNET FOR HIM..SHE NEVER HAD GUIDANCE=POOR JUDGEMENT OR LACK OF IT…

  19. celebs are like politicians ” I am the victim” mentality which is dooming our society. Everything is an illness now.

  20. Hey life is messy, you don’t need to make it worse.

  21. I’m sick of the whole “look at her upbringing” excuse. Please. When does it stop becoming the parent’s fault? She isn’t stupid she knew what she was doing. She knows how drug addiction messed up her life. She’s seen what it did to her family.
She’s 44. 44!!! There’s no excuse for trying to score crack in a park. I have sympathy for those who deserve sympathy. Not some spoiled actress who uses a poor animal as an excuse to hit the pipe. Get a life! And get some help while you’re at it.

  22. Janet,
Your headline is extremely inappropriate, especially for impressionable readers of your site. I’m serious. It might be an idea to change it, because there are NO good reasons for doing drugs.

  23. No she didn’t have a good reason for buying crack. That’s the stupidest title. EVER. There’s never a good reason to buy crack. Don’t blame a poor dog for your stupid habit.

  24. I love Tatum. I think she is a beautiful soul and she totally rocks on “Rescue Me”. That said, there is no need to score drugs on the street. Just go to Samantha Ronson’s website. Same day delivery guaranteed.

  25. If you’ve read Tatum’s book (which I have) you’ll see that her life has always been a big mess. I feel sorry for her in a way. But there is NO EXCUSE to justify drug use. Go back to rehab and deal with the loss of your pet.

  26. Only the strong survive. She is not strong at all, however, I bet that she smokes dope and be a druggie for the rest of her natural born life.

  27. She is an adult who has been thru treatmant. Did she freak out when she lost custody of her kids????
    She will. I would.
    GET Another DOG!
LIFE SUCKS TATUM,PUT YOUR BIG GIRL PANTIES ON!
