THE BUTLER: EIGHT PRESIDENTS AS SEEN THRU THE EYES OF A WHITE HOUSE SERVANT

Everything we hear about Lee Daniels’“The Butler” makes us more eager than ever to see it. It’s based on the epic story of a White House butler who served 8 presidents over three decades, throughout the civil rights era. Forrest Whitaker plays the butler and Oprah Winfrey plays his wife. Minka Kelly (above) was just cast as Jackie Kennedy with Matthew McConaughey as JFK. John Cusack plays Richard Nixon, and Alan Rickman and Jane Fonda were cast as the Reagans. Liam Neeson is up for the part of Lyndon Johnson. It starts shooting this summer. All in all, it sounds historically and politically fascinating.

  1. Lee Daniels knocking another one out. First “Precious” and now this one!

    Good for him. 🙂

  2. Oh yeah!!

Star studded cast. Autobiograpical. Matthew McConaughey. It just doesnt get any better! Oh yeah, throw in a little Forest Whitaker for good measure. This movie sounds incredible!

  3. Not that I have anything against Liam Neesons acting, but why is he in ‘every’ movie?

  4. Historical!?!?1? Really?!?!?! They going to show it was really the cia shooting Kennedy not patsy lee Harvey Oswald. They going to show the bullet from the front not the back. Are they going to show bush was behind Reagan shooting because he talked about changing the fed? If so then it really would be incredible.

  5. Any film with Oprah Winfrey in it is clearly headed for the $1.99 DVD bin at Walmart.

  6. “… it sounds historically and politically fascinating.”

And terribly casted. Minka Kelly AS JACKIE KENNEDY? Jackie Kennedy on her very BEST day could never look 1/3rd like that!!

  7. Minka is so gorgeous, she has a great figure.

  8. It the late 70’s or early 80’s there was a miniseries called Backstairs at the Whitehouse that followed the lives of White House staff throught about 40-50 years of administrations, starting in the 20’s/30’s. Sounds similar.

  9. Interesting cast choices. Hope it turns out to be a good one. 🙂

  10. It does sound good. Except for Oprah as the wife. Forest Whitaker, I’m sure, will be fabulous.

  11. FOR(r)EST…………is it in the name, folks?

  12. She has a pretty face, but she has them same ugly wide muscly wrestlers legs as ugh … Kelly Osborne ewww …
