Celebrities are quietly gnashing their teeth in Hollywood because the good life might never be the same: swag suites are closing down! According to the NY Post, those coveted freebies like $5000 watches, flat screen tv’s, and spa vacations, are a thing of the past! Companies don’t have the budgets for gift suites any more – they have better uses for their money. The Golden Globes will have minimal gifting and few top shelf products. Greedy girls like Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, and Mariah Carey, who used to load up their assistants with gift bags are out of luck. Everyone knows most of the loot ends up in the hands of assistants and housekeepers, anyway. Keanu Reeves made a name for himself by REFUSING to visit gift suites at Sundance.

  1. If you are trying to post, and pushing the submit button brings up an ‘error’ message, here is what you do.:
Type your comment and then push the preview button. You will get a new screen….Then, push the submit button, and it should take it.

  2. JANET, HAVE YOU NOTICED THAT YOU ARE RECEIVING VERY FEW COMMENTS? I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO POST AND IT WON’T TAKE IT. IS COMPUTER NERD CORRECT? IF SO, NO ONE KNOWS THE NEW FORMAT OR WHATEVER IS GOING ON WITH YOUR SITE.

  3. I’ve never understood the concept behind these rich people getting all these expensive gifts for just being there. Actually, it’s disgusting.
Maybe if we knew more about who these companies are, we could blog against them. There are too many needy people out there that could benefit from some help.

  4. Rich people getting tons fo free stuff for doing absolutely NOTHING is disgusting! If they want a TV let them buy it like everyone else has to do! Makes me sick!!

  5. jaNet time to get your site fixed for good. It keeps breaking down.

  6. Good for Keanu, regarding the gifting suites, but…isn’t it time those jeans paid a visit to the washing machine, luv?

  7. I applaud Keneau! I agree with the poster who said the companies giving away all the products should be boycotted. Why do celebrities, who have plenty of money, get them for free? How about the working stiffs who have to pay extra for these same products so the companies can afford to give the handouts? It’s a crying shame. Again, kudos to Keneau. I knew I liked that guy.

  8. This person Reta is so self serving. Its gross. Get a life Reta!

  9. Mariah Carey does not give gifts bags to her assistants, I heard her say so on tv, “Why should she be getting anything?”

  10. I’ve always felt it strange that celebs get all these freebies. But i’m guessing that the companies who give them stuff, hope to get some sort of publicity. If the celeb starts wearing there goods etc.

  11. I have attended a couple if gift suite events with my husband whom is famous, but not always affiliated with the award show that is used as the reason to gift. It is really fun to be attacked with prizes, and if you need services prior to the show due to lack of organization, I suppose it will be taken care of for you. It is uncomfortable to be taking large duffles full of items home that may just gather dust somewhere if not given away, but, none-the-less, it sometimes makes you think about purchasing items again later. So if you like the item, you may want another one later, or would buy it for a friend for Christmas. I bought some reading glasses, and some ugg like boots later because I liked the products. My husband was sent clothing he has worn on T.V. But I think unless he is announcing on the show, or receiving an award, I won’t go again, that is, if they still exist.

  13. O.K., that reply feature is ineffectual as it should repost the original message above the reply (how many ‘Anonymouses’ might it be referring to? So let me do it’s job and never use this feature again:

    Word.

  14. These greedy and digusting ‘stars’ are nausating and i have stopped watching all these entertainment shows..ET, INSIDER etc. not to mention the hosts! such turnoffs, these people..sick of Mary Hart and Lara Spencer who is digustingly conceited with her skinny legs ugh!

  15. The high-dollar bling gets ’em to the function. Its sort of a doggie-bone incentive to draw them away from the mirror or pipe for a few hours and put up with the commoners who want to touch and take pictures. That, or a contractual obligation to appear and promote. Some head straight to the grab-bags and go. Its a show.
