Villa Photo Credit: Pacific Coast News

Time to ponder how the other half lives again. Brad and Angelina have reportedly purchased a villa in the hills of Northern Italy for around 40 million dollars. The U-shaped mansion has 18,000 sq ft and many of the walls are covered with 17th century frescoes. There are 15 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms, 2 pools, a vineyard and waterfalls. Plenty of room for an expanding family. This makes their sixth home in various countries in the world. As it stands, each of their children could inherit their own house. The Pitt-Jolie family is very generous to the less fortunate, but they don’t deny themselves much, either.

So when are they filing for Bankruptcy like Nic Cage? Brad buys all kinds of stupid shit in addition to homes that collect dust.

Pretty sure these two are still the #1 target of the paps. I’ve never read how many nannies, maids, gardeners, cooks, laundress, shoppers, secretaries, tutors, accountants, bodyguards, lawyers, etc. that are employed by them. With all their properties and 6 kids, it must be a small army.

Their dream world could come crashing down any minute. At this moment there are diseases which do not respond to any antibiotics. And, as we all know, they travel the world and many germs are on planes; a microscopic bacteria could bring them down. Of course the mega-rich and famous think that they are beyond such mundane things.

This kind of material acquisition is horrible and ridiculous. When you have this much wealth, more of it needs to go to the poor. Sorry, it’s just how I feel.

The Jolie-Pitts, Oprahs, etc., do not get it. True charity is about giving til it hurts, at least a little. Throwing a million bucks at a charity when you have several multi-million-dollar homes is not generosity…not Judeo-Christian generosity anyway.

Hypocrites and idiots Why dont they take some poor ppl from Haiti, Iraq or Pakistan and help them have a real life in that damm castle? They are charitable as I am Mike Tyson…

To: Not impressed: When you are a gazillionaire, reality merges into fantasy land. This type of life is beyond imagination.

Maybe Jennifer A. has moved on with her life, maybe not. Whatever….I bet if they did go the route of Nicholas Cage bankruptcy, she would be glad, glad, glad and laugh and laugh and laugh.

Uhm, I think it’s called an investment. I believe they can’t just have all there hard earned cash sitting in a bank account collecting interest. In order to gain tax breaks they have to have investments. Maybe they plan to retire here.

Indy, I can see buying two fabulous homes and maybe an apartment in NY so you don’t have to waste money on hotels but 6 or mores homes is absurd. The upkeep on these places alone costs millions of dollars a year so it’s kinda stupid to have so much. Not to mention the cost of furnishing them, paying for security to guard it when you’re not there and all that hideous modern “art” that Brad is always buying. The kids probably just want to stay in one place so they can establish friends, it isn’t healthy to drag them around the world.

Even gazillionaires can go backrupt, if their spending exceeds their earnings. Look at the state of Michael Jackson’s finances before he died. And Villas and castles were generally abandoned by many a noble – and still wealthy – family in the twentieth century because of the prohibitive costs. I agree with some of the other posters – the Jolie-Pitts are laying the groundwork for financial ruin.

Isn’t this the second 40 million dollar mansion they’ve bought this year. Doesn’t that sound odd? How many $40 million dollar mansions are there in the US, let alone the world.

Considering this is a recession, shouldn’t there have been a discount.

I think sometime some crafty real estate agents come up with stuff. Property ownership is public record, I’m going to wait until I see the land transfer papers before I buy this one.

Even though this is old news as someone upthread mentioned–I’m glad Janet ran it again. This. Outrageous spending on these luxury homes across the globe. And they think we’re not supposed to notice how ugly this consumer consumption is when she then dons her shawl and head great to bow in humility at refugee sites? It is absurd. It begs the public to revolt against them. And they are. And I think it’s funny. Their own foundation is based upon shady and selfish practices and from what can be seen to the public through open records, the foundation appears to be weak in its distribution of funds to the needy. It appears, like all these elaborate real estate holdings, to be another way to be greedy, selfish hipocrits.

To: Not impressed: I agree again. These really really old places cost a fortune in heating, air conditioning, upkeep. It may really hit the fan when something major happens, like their accountants and employees siphoning off some of their big bucks. After you reach such a high pinacle as they have, they only way to go is down. I personally think that going up and down in planes hundreds of times have goofed up their brains. Half the time they probably forget where they are. And the kids, who knows what they think of being constantly uprooted. And idiot Brad goes around (as you said) constantly buying works of art. Probably some of them are just copies and there he went and paid a fortune for them. lol.

Um, actually I heard that this is only their THIRD house. The other 2 are in New Orleans and LA. Not that it makes much difference.

  19. By Indy
    On September 14, 2010 at

Angie owns a semi-mansion in Cambodia or Vietnam (or wherever Maddox is from). Also, I think one in the south of France, one in new Orleans, one outside of L.A. and the above one in Italy. Brad owns a so-called bachelor pad in Malibu (or thereabouts).

I don’t believe they have bought this piece of property. On a wide shot, a HUGE white warehouse is very close to the house, and the house itself sits inside four roads running on all sides. The house itself in is horrible condition on the outside, and the grounds around the house, what little there are, are overgrown. All and all it’s a pretty ugly scene, and I just don’t think the Jolie-Pitts bought such a run down place. I think this is a realtor’s dream. Pretend the world’s most famous couple bought it, and start getting prospects to really sell the house. Anyone who would lease the beautiful chateaux in France would not buy this crap. I think it’s just gossip, IMHO.

Village, I also think this one is just rented or a ploy to conjure up interest in it. Who knows what is real or fantasy with these two.

Wow, I guess Tyler Perry doesn’t look so bad now. Money comes and money goes and if you’re stupid enough to waste it, that’s on you. I don’t these people’s lifestyle and I can’t say what my life would have been like if I was in there place with money that early in life. I made some dumb decisions when I was younger.

Ha Lenny, good comment. I made some bad financial decision to this point, and like you could not say what I would have done with lots of cash at my disposal at a relatively early age. And I would never have the option of doing some crappy celebrity reality show to make back some of the funds I wasted.

you still believe she cares a bit about Pakistan & New Orleans?

  25. By Give me a break
    On September 15, 2010 at

I read that one of Angie’s staff said she only donates 10% of her income to charity for the tax breaks. I think Brad might actually care about the poor folks but with Angie I think it’s just a dog and pony show for publicity. Brad is too dense or stoned to see Angie for what she is.

  26. By Indy
    On September 15, 2010 at

Maybe it’s just me, but I have never seen a movie with either one of them that has been enjoyable and memorable.

I think Angie can out-maneuver him and out-think him, and he knows it. He’s dense, stoned most of the time, and basically a little afraid of her.

indy, you are disturbing and have too much time on your hands.

it’s THEIR money, and it pleases me when people who have worked for THEIR money, spend it on THEIR dreams.

you may not want their lives, but envy is not a good color.

  28. By SebastianCanada
    On September 15, 2010 at

sour grapes, actually it is not their money in the same way gold prospectors have their money.

The public makes stars, and it is the public’s money that makes people like Brad and Angie rich.

Celebrities are not supermen and superwomen above all us insignificant mortals, but rather playthings for OUR amusement.

P.S. I am beginning to believe that some of the commentors who post “jealous” comments are plants. If not, they are morons.

dummy, they earned their income. doesn’t matter who paid them. just like you, if you ACTUALLY had a job, got paid because of your work.

no one said that they were SPECIAL.

they enjoy a lifestyle that you don’t! tough. get another line of work! envy and jealously are two different vices. look them up!

…and you’re janet’s plaything. i’m sure she or her web team laugh their ass off daily at this fuckery, AKA the comment section. but website hits are important. poor thing (janet), rarely posts.

this website does not generate that much traffic for ‘plants’. there are other VERY popular sites. i’m just a reader, like you, who has made observations.

My goodness, some of the new posters have no civility. Go away, and come back when you no longer need to be an anonymous coward. It takes talent to make witty comments. In the battle of wits, the uncivil are unarmed.

Warren Buffet started a club for the mega-rich to donate the majority of their money to charity. I wonder if Brad and Angie joined.

I don’t care enough about these self absorbed not very good actors to care what they do or don’t do with their money. And DO think further down the line they may run into difficulties as others have done by overspending lavishly during high times, but, oh well again. One thing that really DOES bug me tho is the baby buying that goes on with celebrities. Madonna was the worst offender with the little girl she took in who still had a living father who was fighting to keep her, but the mother had given her away to an orphanage. That father never had a chance against Ms. Big Bucks!!

  35. By Bettye Bluejay
    On September 16, 2010 at

    Reta, agree with you.
Brangalina seem to care for their kids, while Madonna just buys them for accessories. For sure, Madonna is paying the father big bucks. Sort of like child trafficking without the sex.

Love him or hate him, this guy is a loudmouth who doesn’t hesitate to tell it like he sees it- but there’s one thing he NEVER talks about: his prostate problem. Long story short: he LEAKS! He likes to project an image of macho virility, but under his custom made suits are custom made “diapers.” He’s VERY self-conscious and has absorbent but undetectable “panty liners” sewn into all his underwear, to avoid wet spots. Thanks to his arrogant behavior, he has more than a few enemies and he’s terrified his secret will be exposed and he’ll be forever ridiculed!
