THE MOVIE KNOWING IS RELIGIOUS PROPAGANDA – WITH GREAT SPECIAL EFFECTS

knowing.jpg
Nicolas Cage does his worst acting job to date as a moping, depressed astrophysicist /MIT professor in “Knowing,” who has lost his “faith.” He presents the dilemma of “determination” (God’s plan) versus “randomness” in his classroom and it’s clear by his miserable demeanor that he believes in randomness and therefore can come to no good end. Evangelical Christians are going to LOVE this movie because they enjoy predicting the inevitable apocalyptic events designed to punish mankind for not believing. The movie is also loaded with superstitions and religious symbols. (spoiler alert) The special effects doomsday catastrophes are spectacular – an airplane crash, a subway disaster, and the end of the world. But the rest of this two and a half hour movie is so insultingly DUMB, you’ll want your money back. We’d love to know which religious group financed this piece of propaganda – which by the way, is NOT a science fiction movie.

  1. Your right Janet the special effects are awesome, the scence with the airplane crash, Ive never seen anything like that it, I really enjoyed the movie and wasnt expecting to.

  2. I’ll be paying to see it and no I am not a bible thumper but a believer.

  3. At least you are consistent about hating ALL religions.

  4. Janet, you’d better be right about the apocolypse. The Bible clearly tells us what will happen to non-believers. Better clean your house now while you still can. Hell will not be fun.

  5. @ 6:00 PM, Anonymous: Right, and that includes almost all of GollyWeird, non-believers that are in this industry of booze, drugs, fornications, lovers of material things. The Apocalypse will be a big surprise to these, in fact they don’t even know what it is and where in the Bible it appears. All the signs of His return have been fulfilled…just look around you and read the newspapers. If you want more info, indicate so and I’ll supply it. (hurry before Janet cancels it).

  6. Lord, please save us from your followers, and Nicolas Cage too. : )

  7. Hi,
I’d like to see what you’re talking about. I know that everything has happened that is supposed to before the Second Coming, but I’d be interested in seeing what you’re talking about. It’s just a matter of time. Soddom and Gomorrah lives again, only this time it’s called Hollywood.

  8. There are more effed up comments on religion on this site than anywhere else I visit…Janet was commenting on the stupid MOVIE you idiots!! Which I wouldn’t see for FREE….the ads for it are that bad and the acting in the commercials stinks to high heaven. PLUS now he’s BALD!!! There’s your sex appeal for ya!

  9. you guys and gals are missing it
we are in catastrophe mode now and the unbelievers
will pay for it and are paying for it WITH THEIR MONEY that which they hold most precious
take a look at all the billionaires and banks getting hit by trains its not by accident but its not god made ITS MAN MADE

  10. A BIT HYPOCRITICAL ACTING, folks?
(because of the number of FAGGOTS in it)
    anywa: GLAD I’M NO AMERICAN!!

  11. Janet your heathen comments are rather disturbing. What has happened to you that you spew forth such anti-religious venom? Were you not able to sell your house or visit Barney’s shoe department this week? Readers are suggesting you keep the blog secular. May you be saved by the creator….

  12. Obamma is an instrument of evil, he is putting our economy in the hands of a one world governing body, the Corrupt United Nations with a Global Currency say goodbye to the US Dollar.

  13. Notice how the only actors that get ahead in hollywood and in the corrupt Media are those with UN ambassadorships.

  14. (continued from 6:20 PM)… Most have heard of the Four Horsement of the Apocalypse: Revelation 6, describes the rider on the white horse: This is the Anti-Christ who is among us now, but yet to be revealed. He comes in on a false peace platform regarding Israel’s security. The second rider on the red horse, indicating Russia and Muslim countries marching on Israel in the midst of the tribulation. The third rider on the black horse is the economic collapse of most all countries, which is happening now. The fourth rider on the pale horse represents death and hell, representing the AIDS viruses and other deadly viruses that have come over the last 20 or so years. These are the beginning of sorrows. When the trumpet of the Lord sounds, beleivers will be caught up in the Rapture to meet the Lord in the air (see First Thess. 4, vs. 16,17,18.). Then begins the 7 years of Tribulation where all the woes and sorrows of this present time will be compounded, during which time 21 judgements will be meted out to the world, the last 7 being the worst, and the final ones before Jesus returns with the saints to set up His kingdom in Israel. The Apocalypse ends as Jesus returns (with us believers) where the battle of Armageddon (Rev 16:16) is fought at Megiddo. Then peace will reign for 1000 years, the world will not end, but be renovated, New Jerusalem will come down from heaven and eternity begins. The important thing is if you are a believer you will escape the 7 year Tribulation, so be sure you have repented your sins and accepted Jesus as your Savior. “For it is by grace we are saved through faith and not of ourselves, it is the gift of God.” Ephesians 2:8. In other words, don’t fall into the sins of Hollywood and perish.

  15. God is a lot more forgiving that the so called religious. Thank God.

  16. There IS one part of this oft-told fairytale that I’m intrigued by, and actually wouldn’t mind if it turned out be true: the part where some of the most annoying and misguided human beings ever created just disappear. POOF! “Rapture” — is that what they call it? Yeah, I could get into that.

  17. I saw the movie and I thought it was rather grim. Unfortunately, when hollywood makes a movie where it insinuates religion and faith, those who may enjoy that are ridiculed. It’s a sad state of affairs in this world and so predictable. It will only get worse, ultimately people will care about nothing, not the children, not ourselves, just nothing. And who said this movie is about religion anyway? Spoiler alert here — Cage plays an astrophysicist who is depressed, not about loosing his faith, but loosing his wife. He grew up in a christian house hold (his dad is a minister) and he goes through the ‘why do bad things happen to good people’ process. Anyway, his reaction to the appearance of the spaceship is priceless. Much similar to how non-believer will react when shy$$$t will start to happen. Expect Bibles to sell out. Hint hint…Just save some time and jump to the new testament and learn something.

  18. An old old saying…’There are no atheists in foxholes’. Btw, to 8:38 AM (Life choice), I learned a lot, and thank you.

  19. Don’t like NC but I’m a Christian. Thanks Janet for posting this, I’m gonna see the movie now.

  20. I loved it and will see it again.
Don’t have to be a christian to enjoy it .
As for “progaganda” we get that everyday from our newspapers the entertainment media and 90% of films all left wing.

  21. I don’t care much for nic cage as an actor but janet you made me wanna see it for being so anti christian, have some respect for those of faith even if you prefer to believe in nothing, I would still respect you.

  22. We are not ramdoness or coincidence or descend from apes, why is that so hard to accept.
I noticed the critics massacred the movie, and that’s when I know it is worth seeing, you see the critics all write for the mainstream biased media.

  23. San Francisco and hollywood are todays Sodom and Gomorrah.

  24. What has happened to Nic Cage??? He’s got so OLD looking, so fake. His teeth are obviously fake, his ‘hair’ is so obviously hair. Why doesn’t he let himself age naturally? Sad, really…….

  25. Sick and tired of Hollywood making christians the enemy and ignoring Islamofacsists.

  26. Anon @2:35 PM: I don’t believe in “Satan.” But I do believe in what I can see and have experienced, namely, man’s inhumanity to man and other living creatures. Boogeymen not required. But I certainly understand how foisting all the man-made problems (“evil” to you), of the world on some fictional character is helpful to some.

  27. 3:57 PM: Your argument was lost when you started quoting a book of jewish folktales to “prove” your point. Superstitions which date back to antiquity are no more valid than those which are more recent. As a compendium of ideas — some good, some bad, the bible exists as one way in which man has sought to answer the unaswerable.

  28. I can’t tell you how many times family members have gotten mad at me and stopped talking to me because I wouldn’t lie for them. It’s funny to me cause I’ve always been honest since I was a little girl and sometimes getting in trouble for it, so they should have all known better. So here I am in 100% all honesty to tell you that GOD DOES EXIST I know because of the time he sent me an angel to pray for me, when I was in pain I had barely whispered his name I’m surprised that he even heard me but he did. I’m a sinner just like you God knows we’re not perfect but he wants us to talk to him and believe in him and believe that he wants the best for us, we ask for forgiveness and try our best not to commit the same sin again, he helps you through it. The love that I feel from him when I pray doesn’t even compare to what I thought was love here on earth, there’s nothing like it and the blessings and answered prayers absolutely amaze me Everytime. People say the bible’s old, that it was for the people back then, that it’s hard to understand but the commandments are clear. It’s all up to you and your choice.

  29. ^^ 9:18 I truly believe that when we die, we cease — with no consciousness of our unconsciousness — if that makes sense; the same state of existence as before we were born, but an end rather than a beginning. Throughout human history, nothing has so consumed mankind as the unalterable fact of death. Hence belief systems, religions — all of it — to in some way, change that unavoidable outcome. It would be “my prayer” that we as humans do that which is right and better for our fellow beings for its own sake — and not out of some impossible need to exist beyond our time in nature.

  30. 2:01 PM: It is impossible for a human to cease to exist. If Jesus comes before you die and if you are a believer, you will be raptured into heaven and changed from mortal to immortal instantly. If you die before Jesus comes and if you are a believer, the graves will open and the dead in Christ will rise to be joined with our soul and spirit that went to heaven when our body died. Read first Thessalonians 4:, and the last 6 verses.

  31. 9:18 I truly believe that when we die, we cease — with no consciousness of our unconsciousness —
And if you are wrong and you lived a life without grace. Oh that’s right, you don’t know what that is.
Atheist on his deathbead: “I don’t believe in God, never have, never will, ……………….
but just in case, I love Jesus.”

  32. ^^ What constitutes “a life without grace,” in your opinion? I am not a part of organized religion. I strive to treat others as I wish to be treated. I endeavor to live my life to the fullest, knowing that life truly is short and unpredictable. If my failure to profess belief in a manner acceptable to some others means that the ashes of my body after my death will become a part of this earth ad infinitum, then so be it. It’s called nature, and as a fact of our existence, it is undeniable. It is remarkable how often the nature of opinions such as some offered here take on a “better get on the train, or you’ll be sorry!” quality. Doesn’t the very nature of TRUE BELIEF require that you would have it — or not — regardless of “peer pressure” or fear of a mythical outcome?

  33. And I wanted to add, I am touched by grace every time I am moved by the sight of some part of our beautiful country and the world, or by the selfless actions of one human being to another.

  34. ^^^^^ AMEN
I saw it yet again and will buy the DVD and I am not even crazy about Nic Cage as an actor.

  35. If Hollywood is going to hate on religion, it should at least be fair and balanced, hate on the Jew, Hindus and especiall Muslims.

  36. Oh boy, you Americans can really be dumb sometimes. Get a grip.

And yeah, it’s definitely total religious propaganda. Wrapped up in a totally shit movie. Boo.

  37. Janet:

You are right on target with this one. Believers? Fucked. Scientists? You better listen to your local creationist!

This should be rated ‘R’ for Religious Bullshit! I couldn’t figure out if the filmakers intended this or said “Hey we don’t have an ending to this piece of shit! We spent our budget on the Special FX! I know. We’ve got a country full of Sarah Palin-like religious fanatics. Let’s give ’em Noah’s Ark again. They love that shit!”
