THE TV ACADEMY SNUBBED ANNA NICOLE SMITH

The TV Academy seems to have a short memory! The ran their sentimental list of TV people who died over the past year, and it included camera men and people behind the scenes, but NOT Anna Nicole Smith! Anna had a reality series on E! , The Anna Nicole Show, and can certainly be considered a TV performer. Why the snub?

Thank God. They’re probably as sick of hearing about Anna Nicole as I am…and Larry…and the baby. Sick, sick, sick of hearing about them! She didn’t contribute one worthwhile thing to anybody during her life. Just a drugged-out slug.

That show sucked horribly. What a bore. The only thing I care about during awards season is Joan Rivers. I am so glad she got to blog on the internet at least this year. E channel and TV Guide – all huge bores.

ANNA NICOLE SMITH’S SHOW WAS FUN.. SHE ALSO WAS A GOOD PERSON…… GEORGE BUSH AND DICK CHENEY ARE E-V-I-L- …THE EMMY AWARDS NEEDED TO MENTION THE LATE GREAT ANNA NICOLE AND SHOULD HAVE HAD KATHY GRIFFIN HOST THE SHOW!!!

maybe because Anna is one of those fabricated stars who really didn’t merit such stardom, such as we see with Paris Hilton. If Paris died—oh how we all wish that–would they honor her? I doubt it. Both are scum.

9:10 is right. Great post! ANS was a talentless, god-awful, fabricated mistake. And Paris… no comment.
Good show this year, but why they chose a C-list host is beyond me.

Some of biggest stories of the day OJ in prison and Brit about to lose her kids, bodyguard will testify against her.. her lawyer dumps her, K-Fed got a hit on him, Microsoft loses case, Greenspan goes nuts.. france may bomb Iran etc.. and you put this on for us to deeply concern ourselves about? Sheese Woman!

To the first anon., Howard Stern controlled Anna. He estranged her from her friends and family. He supplied her her drugs and he should be held accountable for her death, just as any other drug dealer or user is held accountable for over dose deaths. Her family should sue him for wrongful death.

The one’s I am sick of hearing about is Hilton, Spears, and Richie. Those three deserve each other. Heaven forbid if their names are not in the media, because they will do something to get back in the media lime light.
I don’t allow my daughters to listen to their music or watch their shows. They are NOT roll models at all and I don’t know why any teen would want to be like them.

Isn’t the RIP segment about people who have died in the previous year, e.g. 2006? ANS died in 2007. So perhaps no big conspiracy here. That said, even if ANS was snubbed, who cares? She had pretty close to zero talent.

ANNA WAS GOOD AT BEING ANNA. I LIKED HER EVEN THOUGH SHE WAS NUTTY – SHE WAS A SWEET PERSON AND YOU COULD CERTAINLY TELL SHE LOVED HER SON.

yes we hear way too much about the 3 skanks paris lindsey and miss richie. yes it was too bad about deleting anna and yes they should of mention her and the emmys but all they think about is their selves and not about life itself and how fragile it is. they are so into themselves and ryan s. was not a good candidate for the awards so immature.

Anna Nicole is hardly worthy of being acknowledged by the TV Academy. She had a D list show on E and frankly, think more along the lines of Hugh Hefner or one of his girlfriends dying. Do you honestly think the Academy would honor them for their “career contributions to the institution that is television” I doubt it. I’m sure Anna was a lovely person, but be real Janet, the Academy tends to honor people who made a difference to the medium and art form.

Quite honestly I didn’t even notice that AN name was omitted. That shows you how much I care.

Janet, you are right. They should have included her in that tribute. About a third of them I had never heard of and a lot of them made a lot of $$$ of her. Keep up up the good work. Vicki

Well, duh… You know why don’t you. She’s not dead.
I mean, think about who did the autopsy – some 3rd world gov’t.
And some people really believed Elvis died, too… LOL. (He just got a hair cut and grew a beard).
Look for Anna to of had a breast reduction and she probably unbleached her hair, though by now she’s probably weights about 200 pounds… Hey, it’ happens.

She also, probably moved to another island.
You know, she could easily blend in well in Key West… Wait for Oct 31 for Fantasy Fest to send your gay reporter down there.
They just might move there!

ANS gave birth to Daniel and Dannielynn. It is amazing that these children were not drug impared! Please do not honor her in any way, she only cared about drugs, dragged everyone down..I agree with the comments that she was a “slug”..now Cosby,Arthur and “Dopey” are hopping on the bandwaggon trying to make money…I call them the “Bitches of Birkwick”! Dr. Perper took hair samples…WHY OH WHY haven’t they been tested to prove a calendar of drug abuse..plot this against HK$ and it will prove his GUILT!!!

I’ve noticed this happening before but it is weird in this case since she was the darling of the media, good and bad. Including during her death and sometime after. Showing their true worth, when it’s their turn to show respect they came up empty.
I would have loved to see a tight face shot of her at the start of her career, she was after a beautiful woman.

should of been mention but that’s a horrble mistake on the commitee who planned this fiasco of awards show.

Anna Nicole made no worthy contributions to television or society as a whole. She wasn’t mentioned because she didn’t deserve to be no matter how much press coverage she got. Paris Hilton gets a ton of press coverage and I wouldn’t expect them to honor her ass if she died. Get over it. People make money off of lots of folks, but don’t mean they’re worthy of being honored. Hell, it’s bad enough they’ll honor Pam Anderson when she kicks off.

I will be so grateful if I never have to hear the name Anna Nicole Smith in my life again. Thank you to the Emmys for not bringing her up.
Where does anyone get the idea she was a sweet and kind person? Get a grip!
