THE WRESTLER IS MICKEY ROURKE'S BIG COMEBACK

Mickey Rourke made a personal appearance after a screening of The Wrestler for SAG members in West Hollywood Saturday night. The movie, directed by Darran Aronofsky, was grueling and violent but brilliant. One of the most fascinating aspects of the film was the backstage camaraderie between the wrestlers. Onstage after the movie, Mickey revealed that he gained 30 pounds of muscle for the part (and he looks a lot better now without that weight.) Clad in sharkskin pants and jacket, Mickey captivated the audience with stories about making the movie such as the time Darren the director reminded Mickey about his sick dog Loki to make him more emotional in a sensitive scene. Fortunately,16 year old Loki recovered, and was in the audience.

   He may not be what he used to be, but who is, really? We all get older. You have to admit, there is something special about a man that loves their pet that much. It shows Hollywood hasn’t sucked his soul completely dry yet.

   Is there some reason this guy never washes his hair? Every picture of him shows his hair filthy and stringy, doesn’t exactly make me want to go see any movies he might be in. YUCK!!
