Who knew Uma Thurman had such a glamorous mother? Uma’s mother was a Swedish model, Nena von Schlebrugge, who was discovered at the age of 15 in Stockholm and flown to New York in the 50’s. (Nena’s mother had been a model as well.) She was a huge success as a cover girl and married – of all people- LSD guru Timothy Leary in 1965. She came to her senses after a year and married Uma’s father Robert Thurman, a professor of Tibetan Buddhism. Their daughter Uma started her career as a fashion model at 15 also – that’s THREE generations of models! Uma is currently pregnant with her third child – fathered by London based financier Arpad Busson.

   You can see the resemblance between mother & daughter. I think Uma’s a good actress who’s pretty much kept her personal life, well, personal. Congrats to her child.

   I forgot that she is pregnant because she has the class enough to keep her private life private for the most part. You rarely see pics of her children and that says a lot to me. It means you can keep your children private if you so choose. Others like SJP use them as props.
