THIS IS WHAT HAPPINESS LOOKS LIKE

Four year old Willy the polar bear lives in a zoo in North Carolina and apparently he’d been showing signs of melancholy. To cheer him up, the zoo surprised him with 5000 pounds of ice cubes and he almost exploded with happiness. Willy wallowed and rolled and nuzzled and licked the ice and seemed to be in complete ecstasy. Until it melted. It reminds us that he would probably be happier back at his arctic habitat.

  1. Willy’s arctic habitat due to global warming is almost gone! These animals are becoming extinct very rapidly! People and corporations keep pollution this great blue planet!

  2. Janet Charlton tops the list of boring sites with things like this.

  3. THANK-YOU JANET! This is the best (but sadest) story I’ve seen today. I realize global warming and animals dying out of existance isn’t as important to some as celebrity gossip…

  4. The top picture is one of the kardashian hos. I just haven’t figured out which one yet.

  5. Either give him ice daily, or ship him back to the Artic. Thanks Janet.

  6. Awwww… Thanks Janet!!! This guy is a star in his own right! I love stories on animals!!! : )

  7. Polar bears are at greater numbers now than they have been in the last 80 years. Either the bears like the warmer temps, or the whole global warming thing is an f’ing hoax.

  8. They are studying and preserving his kind and presenting a him in a unlikely but habitable site; and not many people would see and support his stuggle and life too, if he were not caged and humanely cared for by zoos and their fine workers and supporters.

  9. Since the word “polar” means pole as in one of the two poles, which are artic. If we are going to keep POLAR bears in zoos, then we need to make sure they have enclosures that are as close to their natural habitats as possible. This means lots of ice and cold. I mean, duh, people!

  10. And I apologize for my garbled post! Wow. Lack of caffeine. Hopefully, you got what I meant to say. LOL!
