Imagine that – a Broadway show called “Million Dollar Quartet” was created with THIS classic photograph as inspiration. An impromptu recording session in 1956 in Memphis engineered by producer Sam Phillips of Sun Records, kicked off the careers of Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Elvis Presley, and Johnny Cash. The show, featuring great rockabilly songs from that era, ran for a year in Chicago and is set to open in New York this month. Only now, Jerry Lee Lewis, the only one of the four musicians still alive (and working,) is suing the producers because he wants a cut of the profits. It could turn out to be a big legal dilemma involving public figures and free speech. Lawyers have to decide if Jerry’s likeness is being used to sell tickets.

I wouldn’t touch Jerry Lee Lewis with a ten-foot pole. Call me quirky, but I just don’t like someone who has murdered a spouse.
I didn’t know he murdered a spouse. But I know he screwed his 14 year old cousin and call it marriage. Elvis was the best.
I live 12 miles from Graceland and met him outside a Memphis theatre that he rented out. It was after he made ‘Blue Hawaii’. He was the handsomest man who ever lived, not to mention extremely nice and friendly.

Jerry Lee Lewis has never been a push-over. If tickets are being sold because he is one of the featured performers that sparked an interest for this show, yes indeed he should receive a percentage of the profits.You can bet your last five dollars Priscilla and the executors of Elvis’ estate are going to be notifying the producers.
