TIME FOR A BARBIE DOLL MAKEOVER

Ever wonder what Barbie would like like if she had the body proportions of a normal person? Not half as bad as you think! An artist in the UK, Nickolay Lamm decided to do girls a favor and recreate Barbie with the same measurements as a typical 19 year old girl. The original doll, if human size, would measure 36-18-33. The recreation has average measurements of 32-31-33. And the normal version with the shorter neck somewhat resembles Ryan Seacrest’s exgirlfriend Julianne Hough! Not bad. Perhaps Mattel will take note!

32 31 33!?! Are you sure you don’t mean 32 21 33? Not average, but proportionally more standard, I think. The doll looks fine, but I find it hard to believe someone with 33 inch hips would have a butt that luscious.

I love the original “disproportioned” Barbie the best. They should of left her alone.

That’s a perfectly hideous re-creation! Too short, chubby and squat. Leave the doll alone; she’s fine just as she is!

That smaller one looks like Barbie’s little sister Midge.

Midge was the freckle-faced redhead friend. Barbie’s little sister was named Skipper, and I had the “Growin’ Up” version who, if you spun her arm around in circles, she would grow taller and develop boobs! Twist the other way, and she’d shrink back out of puberty. I suppose that would be politically incorrect now in these repressive times.

The smaller one looks like an Olympic athlete.

Am I right that the second measurements are still ridiculously small. 34 25 36 (I remember my youth..sigh) seems like a much more attainable ideal. The 31 inch waist must have been a typo. 32 31 33 would mean she has virtually no waist!

    |

    BLIND_ITEM_NEW_#CUT

One of America’s Sweethearts is battling a serious drug addiction- not hers, but her best friend’s. Through the years these two have been stuck to one another like white on rice and her fame rubbed off on her pal. They’ve been roomies, have worked together on set, and even launched a business venture together. But all that success has come with a price. After years of being sober, the less famous friend has fallen HARD off the wagon and our gal doesn’t know what to do. She’s hosted an intervention, hired an addiction specialist, and even threatened to end the friendship, but nothing seems to work. What’s a girl to do?
