BBC Films is in the process of producing “You Really Got Me” about one of our favorite British bands –The Kinks – and the rivalry between the brothers Ray and Dave Davies who founded the band. Both of the feisty brothers wrote opposing autobiographies and these will be combined for the screenplay to give it balance. Julien Temple is set to direct so it definitely will be colorful and loud. One of the greatest bands of the 60’s. The first time I sampled their music, I fell in love with their sound.
To this day, when I hear the first few notes of “You really got me”……I am transported just for a few brief seconds to a amazing period of my life.
This is one of my all time favorite bands. This should be good. Ive seen them in concert before and they are fantastic!

One of the greatest concerts I’ve seen! Low Budget 1979 in Vancouver.
It was the same tour as their One For The Road video.
People were blown off their seats!!
I have an email response from Dave after I sent him a saluts on his website about ten years or so ago. I blew a bunch of smoke up his ass about how he was/is, my favourite guitar player..which he is, next to Johnny Ramone…however I did not realize he had just had a stroke.Like, just!
He responded simply with, “bless you.”
It’s in my rock stars folder. With some interesting others.
But none as cool as Dave The Rave.
And Ray’s a god.
Life’s not so bad.

If you remain seated during “You’ve Really Got Me” you’re either in a coma or dead. Hugely entertaining band. A movie seems to me to be a long time coming.
Oh wow. I can’t wait to see this. I saw them in the 90’s and it was such a good show. Hooray!

The Kinks are coming to the Big Screen?? I can’t flippin believe it. It’s about time!! I love these guys! I saw them in concert at Berkley Ca 75. Freekin Awesome. Also at San Francisco. I just finished reading two books on the Kinks. Ray, Dave, Pete & Mick. Dalton’s Awesome also.. I cannot wait to see them on the Big Screen.
