TOM HANKS BOUGHT HIS DREAM HOUSE FOR 26 MILLION

Who would have guessed that TOM HANKS would be the buyer of the most expensive residence sold in California so far this year? The “Big” star spent over 26 million dollars on a swanky ultra-modern 14,500 sq ft Pacific Palisades compound. Since his two sons with Rita Wilson are almost grown up, it might sound surprising that Tom is moving from a 7000 sq ft house into such a big one. Actually he IS downsizing in a big way. The new home has only four bedrooms and five bathrooms. You can imagine how LARGE the rooms are! And the bonus rooms must be spectacular. We assume Tom has put a lot of thought into this purchase – our favorite movie of Tom’s is “The Money Pit.”

  1. Such a big house is not good for the environment as he will be using tons of energy and waste tons of water. But that is what hypocrite environmentalists like Tom do. They tell YOU how to live your lives but don’t practice what they preach. Thanks Tom for proving yet again how hollywood leftist elitists like yourself should be ignored and ridiculed for your double standard.

  2. Just think if Tom tightened his belt and lived in, say, a three million dollar home and donated twenty three million to those in countries that have no food for the poor and young children are dying. But that would require quite a sacrifice, wouldn’t it? And we wouldn’t want to save lives if our wealthy were inconvenienced. I think from now on I will be looking at Tom quite differently. Greed is still alive and well.

  3. I never liked the fugly liberal hypocrite, especially after he endorsed gays. He cares for no one but himself, just as most of those in lala-land. I have seen stories in some of the rags where stars like Hanks come out of restaurants and hand a begging homeless man $20, and they do that because the Papps are there to see it. The rags jump on it and say ‘oh what a big-hearted’ guy. If they were really big-hearted, they would live in a “modest” mere 4 or 5 million $ mansion and help the homeless and destitute, like building them decent housing and helping them get jobs. Their selfish ways will come back on them later.

  4. Biscuit…

Tom has to show homosexuals a level of public respect because it’s them who gave him a career. Hollywood is run by homosexuals. They are heavily concentrated there because they are creative people (just as they are in fashion). Doesn’t make him a bad guy nor are queers bad people but they are very thin skinned and vindictive as many in hollywood are. TOm has to “bend over” for them or they’ll black ball him. The main problem with Tom is that he’s is a brain washed liberal who is divorced from the reality that us non hollywood people live in. He lives a sheltered life and thus buys into the idiotic ideas that ricochet in the echo chamber of hollywood.

  5. I endorse what biscuit said. I believe it was TMZ that caught Jessica Alba coming out of Sprinkles bakery. She saw the Papps and a homeless guy nearby. She went back in to Sprinkles and bought two dozen cupcakes and handed it to the guy. Big deal….$30 or so and the papps caught it, making her out like a big do-gooder. All the stars do things like this to be seen. They are mostly (but not all) self-centered and pompous.

  6. ……..unfortunately he is acting a full 100 percent american.
    SORRY FOR THAT, folks!!

  7. Just think of all the people and animals he could have helped with just a fraction of that money. Food pantries all over the country are closing because of a lack of funding, and Tom Hanks spends that much money on a house? And then the upkeep of the house? Something is wrong here.

  8. Sadly people it’s Hollywierd, they live in their own little world, seperate from the rest of us, who are struggling to keep our homes, everyday people are losing homes and these idiot is purchasing a million dollar homes? he could use that money and help lots of people in saving their homes. It’s a sad trend in Hollywierd that you must buy the most the most expensive home in the land.
    Sadly but true.

  9. I’m very dissappointed that one of my favorite actors has spent this much money on only a house. It’s obscene. I’m embarrassed for him that he’s gone to such extremes to flaunt his wealth just because he can.

Of course, he doesn’t HAVE to give or share his money with the rest of the world, or the poor, or the homeless, or the sick kids all over the world, and he probably already DOES give lots of money to charity that we don’t know about. It’s HIS money, after all, and he can squander it in whatever obscene way he chooses, just as you would your own money.

One just has to wonder why two people need that size of a house? They can’t possible use all that space. What’s even more obscene is that places like that were ever built in the first place!

  10. Tom and Rita, one of my fave H’wood couplings.
They have been married all these years, with
not one hint of scandal.Best Actor Winner two years in a row.Loves his wife, adult children on their own,no scandal.”Forest Gump” meets “My Big Fat Greek Wedding”.Tom let all of us know that he knows what love is
doing his “Oscar speech” and if moving into a brand new expansive house with a hefty pricetag with his beautiful wife who continues to make him “forest gump happy”who am I to que$tion the co$t of hi$ love and happine$$.They are still one of my favorite “married”couples.Happy Housewarming!

  11. Celebrity behavior like this is the reason I will not fully support the entertainment industry (do not go to movie theatres for example). These celebs behave like emperors and potentates. And most are ignorant yokels who simply had a massive stroke of luck.

  12. It’s true I never heard a word about Tom or Rita having an affair or any kind of scandal. However, I never liked him since he played a faggot living with his faggott lover in the movie “Philadelphia” around 1995. He may be living it up now with fame and mega-bucks and a mansion, but he will be sorry on Judgment Day for glorifying fags in this movie. This life on earth is temporary, eternity is forever. Look at what happened to Heath Ledger who played a faggot in “Brokeback Mountain”.

  13. So let me just ask, if any of you came into some extra big bucks, what would you do with it? Would you just hand it over to a soup kitchen? A homeless guy on the street? I thought not. He bought a house which is public record so everyone can find out what he paid. It is not his style to announce how much he gives to charity or to anyone. Maybe he doesnt give a cent, who knows but it makes him classier not announcing every penny he gives away…are you hearing me Angelina Jolie?

  14. Jaspar’s Goat — Could you be more hypocritically ignorant? You’re a religious nut job who trolls celebrity websites, judging others. You are a complete jackass who lives in the twilight zone.

  15. Red Rooster you are 1000% right about Jaspers Goat! What a colossal ass hole!!!! To doom a person because of an acting role they took is one of the most infantile things I have ever heard of. Get in the real worl and realise there are all kinds of people in the world and gay people have just as much right to be here as you assholes do. What makes YOU so superior? Because you read some ancient book? Give me a effin break!!!

  16. Never mind the fact that he paid double the going price / square foot in today’s market in the Palisades, even for overbuilt McMansions and exotic uber-estates. Looks like somebody got taken advantage of by their Realtors on this little deal…

Of course it’s the most expensive sale this year – LOL! Almost nobody is buying the double digit millions anymore – so the bulk of them had to reduce to around half their original asking price just to generate any offers. The wealthy are not stupid… to pay through the nose in this collapsed market. Stupid is as stupid does.

In fact since Jan 2009, only 2 Palisades houses sold that were comparably sized to the Hanks’ new Cottage …one for a little over $8 Million (originally listed at $13 mill) and the other for a paltry $14.5 Million (originally listed at $27 mill). They both had 7 and 8 bedrms, respectively.

    Methinks you’ve been punked, Tom.

  17. @ Red Rooster: I don’t troll any other websites, only Janet’s. The reason for only Janet’s site is there appears to be many who tune it to Janet that need to be reminded that Sodom and Gomorrah were completely destroyed and all faggots who lived there were killed. Tom Hanks endorses the gay lifestyle…he has said so. Doing the movie Philadelphia greatly helped his agenda of promoting gays. All should read Romans Chapter 1, last 10 verses.

  18. Jasper’s Goat. You are so in the closet. Be brave. Be who you really are. And didn’t the Bible say something about not judging lest you be judged. But you would rather judge ’cause it makes you appear, in your own mind, straight. Right.

  19. I suspect that nobody here is likely to have their minds changed for them by reading opinions and off-topic rants (despite occasionally making my own off-topic rants;-) But I wasn’t intending on changing anyone’s mind, just posting my own opinions, and occasionally adding info when I had it).

  20. This man has really busted his ass for years and know he has the house of his dreams to live in for the rest of his life..Great actor and amazing funny man and has made some movies that are timeless and incredible…Good for you Tom Hanks.

  21. My good-ness that place is fit for a king and you can move every one in your family and not see them for weeks and alone the taxs has to be major crazy to pay for but I am sure this smart man has some money put aside for a rainy day…A big ass house like that…Is going to take years to get used too.

  22. The point that is always missed in extreme purchases is that money is filtering down which is a good thing. Some one is greatfull TH brought his house. That person goes on to buy another house and so the money filters down and thins out. If you buy a $100m boat, someone got paid to sell it, paint it, wire it ect and all those people brought cars with the money. The guy who sold the electrian who wired the boat, a car, makes money and takes his kids to the movies ……

Ob-la-di ob-la-da life goes on and the money around and around!
