VERSACE: AMERICAN CRIME STORY IS AN ELABORATE RE-ENACTMENT

Ryan Murphy is a stickler for authenticity so it’s no surprise that he rented Gianni Versace’s Miami mansion, where he was killed in 1997, as a filming location for Versace: American Crime Story. The elaborate house is now a boutique hotel, Villa Casa Casuarina, with ten rooms retaining many Versace features. All the rooms are ultra-fancy (gaudy and very Trumpish with lots of gold) and go for over a thousand dollars a night. So you can imagine what it cost for ACS to rent the whole place for the month of May. Ricky Martin is playing Versace’s boyfriend Antonio and we look forward to seeing him in a Speedo around the pool.

  1. Who in their right mind is interested in this garbage?

  2. Different strokes for different folks. I am a straight middle aged woman and I am very interested.

Versace had a very interesting life, and I followed this story from the beginning. I visited his mansion, the crime scene, shortly after the murder, and would love to be able to tour it.

Also, Ricky Martin is a fabulous entertainer, not sure about his acting, but we’ll see. I’m looking forward to it!
