There are plenty of gay shenanigans in Adam Sandler’s currently filming movie “I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry.” It’s about firemen who pretend they’re gay to get health benefits. Hulking Ving Rhames plays a macho fireman of indeterminate sexual preference, and his character was supposed to give a big kiss to another guy. But Ving could NOT bring himself to do it. Kissing a guy freaked him out. Producers solved the problem by grabbing an extra – a tallish girl with short hair – and they dressed her up in men’s clothes. Ving was perfectly happy to kiss the girl in drag – and the girl was thrilled because the bigger role meant she got her SAG card.!

This man has pride. He won’t lower his standards. Just because gay people think nothing of it to be perverse, a straight man won’t think of it. Gays are so delusional and eventually the world will will go the way of Sodom.

So can someone please explain to me how a man not wanting to kiss another man is grounds for racist comments? First of all, the man is not homosexual so it is understandable that he doesn’t want to kiss another man. Second of all, to all of the idiots who are trying to use Holiday Heart as an excuse for why he should kiss a man. I don’t recall him kissing any men in that movie and being a man who dresses in drag is completely different from being a homosexual man. Third of all, if you don’t support the man, just don’t go see his movies. At no point should the fact that he doesn’t want to kiss a man mean that he should “hang from a tree” nor is it grounds for any other racial comment that some poor, ignorant, racist individual wants to make. It is a shame that people who proclaim to be grown and adults are acting so immature over something as frivolous and insignificant as whether or not a person wants to kiss a member of the same sex. Why don’t you put that energy towards the war in Iraq, poverty in America, or unemployment? Some people need to mature and get a life.

So what? He didn’t want to kiss another man. Why does this tick people off? Says only one thing about him: He’s STRAIGHT.
Do you want to begin descriminating against heterosexual actors now?
It was all worked out in a professional manner. This is nothing new. Some actors use doubles/stand ins for leg shots. This is no different.

Go suck a dick, we know it’s what you want.
Kissing a person of the same sex on a movie set does not make you gay.
    Stupid is as stupid does.

Oh Bignasty, what a lovely offer, but I’ll need a pair of tweezers and a magnifying glass to find that little splinter you call a penis.
Plus a heaping dose of pennicillin because God only knows how many manwhores do you every night.
The only thing you have smaller than your penis is your brain.

Honestly, if I were a straight man/actor for the right amount of money I’d definately go there, whats a kiss?? There would be absolutely NO tongue action but a kiss on the lips for a few thousand/millions oh hell yeah

Ahh Margo, now with the little penis comments, So original! If I was into Manwhores, i would probably agree with Ving and his Homophobic tendencies.
Dont worry about my penis size, your mom seems to enjoy it and your daddy begs for it.
    Its all good!

I’ve loved that joke ever since I heard it in 1947.
You closeted homos are so funny.
I see by your post that you are sexually attracted to Ving….maybe he’ll kiss you onscreen and you can cream your little man panties.

The problem is these faggot child molesting sickoes in Hollywood are forcing there views on the world. And because so many of them are executives they try to black ball you if you don’t play ball. I mean let them play with your balls. Homosexuality is wrong and unnatural. Thats why god marks you when you are gay because its unnatural. You can try to rationalize and say you have the right all you want to make decisions in your life. The truth is there are many decisions in life you do not have the right to make. Homosexuality is one. hatred is another. God has commanded us all to be what he birth us to be.Now you can play with that if you want to. These type of images should not even be potrayed in movies. I applaud the brotha for not kissing a man in the mouth. I ponder why he has played gay roles in the past. I guess money comes before morality.

So he didn’t want to kiss another dude. So what, regardless of whether or not he did or didn’t wanna is and was soley left up to him – Sheesh, so many people are crying foul nowadays – oh and as far as being a closet case or whatever Shakespearean blurb is concerned = wrong…

I agree with much of the criticism of Rhames. What a wimp-out … hey Ving, you want the money, ya gotta do the work !!
But I’m also a bit bemused that no-one has even considered the obnoxiousness of the storyline of the movie this guy is making (or not). Pretending to be gay to get extra benefits they wouldn’t otherwise get ? In what universe is this movie set ?! ‘Coz it sure ain’t this one !! Gays don’t even get *basic* rights in the US, let alone extra ones.
This movie is pretty likely a remake of an Australian one made in 2005, with the same absurd (and kinda insulting) premise, that starred Paul Hogan (remember him from “Crocodile Dundee” ? But the movie bombed, if I remember rightly). In recent years here in Oz as well, gay people have been denied basic rights by extraordinary amendments to the law. So the movie was just as offensive here.

Ving down. I don’t think Ving is ready to face his fears. He couldn’t find a job playing a straight role, so he plays his fear-gay. If he was any good playing straight, he would not be in this role. Good actors have a choice of roles, bad actors ask for stand ins, because they can’t cut it in most roles. Maybe the girl standing in should do his role, since she is the true actor of the two. Keep her in drag and drag him out of the series. Ving Man Up or Get Out of the Business.

They should have fired him for not doing his job. He’s a lousy actor anyway and this latest move was particularly unprofessional. He wasn’t asked to have actual sex with someone. He was asked to perform a screen kiss. It’s pitiful that he wouldn’t comply.

Janet, Ving cannot talk at this point since he kissed another man in “Holiday Heart” (2000). Ving played Holiday, a drag performer who befriended Wanda, a drug addict, and Nikki, her precocious daughter, after grieving for the death of his domestic partner, Fisher, a police officer. Ving kissed Benz Antoine, the actor who played Fisher, fully on the lips. Oh puhleeze!!!!

Did everyone forget PULP FICTION where Ving got F’d in the az by a guy. it was ok for him to get raped by a guy but now he cant kiss one. its all acting right?

Ving Rhames is a scumbag who will play any role (mostly gay) for money. If he’s not taking it in the a$$ he’s dressed in drag. And anyone who can use this discussion to make racist comments is also a weak cowardly scumbag. Moreover, Hollywood is full of insecure, gay, childmolesting jizz-bags who like to keep the image of blackmen being gay in the public-eye. There are homosexuals in every race on the planet, not just blackmen. So all you chest pounding, closet homos, shut the fu@k up: and the next time your cruising the gay-bars, have a cocktail on me…some guys cock in your tail!!!

People, you could dress up like the opposite sex to play a part all day every day, but at the end of the day, it doesn’t make you gay. I wear my husband’s clothes, but I won’t be kissing any chicks…lol. He didn’t want to kiss a dude, and obviously it was his prerogative and he didn’t HAVE to do it, and HE STILL GOT THE PART!!! Good for you Ving:).I want to see this movie.
